I have got 2 children and 3 adults at home, and everyday we have lots of cloths to wash and after wash and dried, either me or my wife have to fold it one by one and sometime it take so long time to finished folded it. I have asked many people how they manage their clothes but the answer are almost the same, most of them are using folding method and put it inside a box or drawer, but find that with this method, it is quite difficult to find the clothes that we want. The other method they will use is to hang it up and that will be easier to find the clothes but it will probably need a lot of place to hang, and normally a cabinet will only have one place to hang all the clothes. What method do you use to keep your clothes?

I fold most of my jeans, work pants, undies, bras, laying tank tops, work shirts, and so on. And I have a big hanging section in my closet where I put my blouses (I have tons of them), dress up tank tops, and hoodies/sweaters. I like doing this because it means my drawers won't be overflowing with clothes (yes, I Have THAT many) and also - it prevents the blouses from wrinkling (and I get some of them dry cleaned, so this helps for sure!)

I am really admire people like you who having a big hanging section and big cabinet so that I can put all my clothes into it. Now my clothes all are just keep inside the basket and it is hard for me to find the shirt or pants that I would like to wear. Whenever I tried to find a clothes, I will make the whole thing become untidy and I have to refold most of the clothes again.

yspmyl I am in the US and oddly we have the same problems always more clothes than bureau and closest space. I have a huge bureau here in my room,,. we each have our own bureaus and half of the closet space. My drawers are full all six drawers but again I need to take some things out that I never wear to make more space and to help someone else who maybe could wear it. they are either too big, too small or just do not fit right.I hang what I can in my sp ace as I came later my roomie has a bit more than half the closet and I have never seen anyone have so m any outfits. She is I guess clothes hungry but I notice she can only wear a third of what she has hanging up. I guess she like myself needs to weed out the things we bought that were bad buys, the clothes that are too small or just do not fit right and give them to people who are needy.

I think many people have this bad habit that they will simply buy shirts or clothes that they think is nice at the boutique or especially at sale season. Many will just buy and buy without think of they actually have too many clothes that they almost never wear it before or many just wear it once. I think this is quite common in many peoples and it happen regardless of country border. I ever tried to calculate how much it worth of the total clothes that I have, and that is really a huge amount, it add up to a total of few thousands. Just imagine that, if we were to save those money on other thing, that will probably save us a lot.

HI, I wash my dirty clothes everyday, or else, it will be pile like a mountain if I were to delay in washing them for a few days. With small kid at home, it is best to wash dirty clothes everyday because kid tend to change clothes more often. Sometimes, I do feel tired to hang and fold all clean clothes, It has been my routine job and some clothes need to be ironed too. For sleepwear and Home clothes wear,no ironing is needed and I just fold them nicely and arrange inside the cabinet.Only those dresses or outing clothes, then I will hang with hanger and put nicely inside my cabinet.

I think what you did is also doing by most of the family, it is very common that iron clothes, folding clothes and keep the clothes are become one of the routine job that needed to do it everyday. I think of this job is not being carry out everyday, you will probably see a mountain high of clothes. I too feel tired to do this everyday, so I would like some of mylotter can share their great idea to simplify this job.

Well, we use a combination of both those methods. I like to have the clothes that I need for special occasions have hanging up in a cabinet or closet so they are easy to access. But with the regular everyday clothes that I need for my day to day life I just like to have them stored away in a drawer so I can get to it more easily than having them in a closet.

That is what I normally do with our clothes, I too hang most of my working clothes and keep casual clothes in the drawer and boxes. I prefer to keep the clothes hanging because that will be easiest access to all my clothes.

yes we tend to accumulate too many clothes and it's a good idea to go through your closet or drawers periodically and "dispose" of some of them. you'd be surprised that you really do not use all of the clothes you have. that being said, it's really hard to part with some pieces of clothing for one reason or another. maybe we should just all control our urge to buy

True! When I check again all my clothes, I got surprise that there are many clothes that I rarely wear. Some of them I only use it once and some are too small to fit for me anymore. I am thinking of to give out those clothes to someone who needed the clothes.

I never realized I had a lot of clothes already until we move to a new home. Although its just me and my partner together and I used few of my favorite clothes on, when I started to pack things up it was alot. So I choose to separate my old clothes and pack it separately, lucky enough there's a charitable institution in the area who accept used clothes for victims such as flood or fire or give it to homeless people. I do manage to organize clothes myself, I do understand your situation though especially having kids around where clothes organization is hard to thing to do.

To do charity is better than to dumb the clothes, I believe there are many people will need the clothes, those children in the orphanage house, those old folks in the care house, and those victim of the natural disasters will also need it urgently. I did sent some of my old clothes to some of the charity society so that they can distribute to those who need it.

I think a lot of people have more clothes than they know what to do with. it can seem like an endless chore to know what to do with all of the clothes that we own.

I do a few different things. I have a large storage for clothes that I am not using at the moment (I put winter clothes there in the summer, and summer clothes there in the winter etc.), which is great, because it really saves a lot of space in your regular closet. I also hang some items that are better off being hanged, and fold things that are better of folded. I also divide my clothes into categories: pants in one pile underwear in one pile tops in one pile tank tops in one pile skirt in one pile and dresses in one pile and last but not least: work out clothes and sleep wear in a separate place. This keeps my closet pretty organized anyway...

Wow! You impressed me with so many categories of clothes you have differentiate. That might be a good idea to apply, I might consider your idea in the future, but first I have to look for a place for all these categories. Have you separate all the clothes into your clothes, your husbands' clothes, or your children' clothes?

There is a faster way to fold your clothers. Kindly check the metacafe site. Unluckily, I can not recall the exact address. If you are not willing to spend your valuable times to wash, to iron and to fold or to hang your clothes, just engage a maid to do for you. If you can not remember the places where you keep your clothes, you are having a memory problem. Memory of human-beings will retreat by their age. Consuming Yeeginkgo can prevent you from losing your memory. You can also buy a better cabinet which can accomodate all of your clothes which you plan to hang. ha! ha! ha!

To hire a maid is probably the easiest way to keep all the clothes and as well for all the house work. When you have more than a hundreds of clothes, can you actually really remember where you keep it? I bet you can't too. It is not the problem of memory but the place to keep. If I can keep all the clothes in my memory, I will do so, and whenever I need it, I will just recall it from my mind.. Buying a huge (not big) cabinet definitely will accommodate all my clothes but that will need time to do that too. So that is not a good idea...
