I have a really good long term memory but a not so good short term memory. I clearly remember details of the past but tend to forget things that happened a few sec. ago. It seems to 'get' to me a few months late!! Hahah. Anyways, I think my long term memory is depressing sometimes, I mean, I appreciate that I have it but i remember some of the most ridiculous and unimportant things that haunt me. And it's sad when I'm the only one who remembers when everyone else has forgotten. How well is your memory?

For some people they can start pretty young, in your thirties or forties. If you are a woman they are often tyed to hormones. If you have had this a long time it just might be a lack of training your mind. Try focus of your mind on just the present, do not allow any worry or day dreaming to overtake you, just bring your mind back to the present. Also get in the habit of writing notes. You can do this first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, then as the day goes by refer to your notes and at the end of the day outline the next day. With all these things you are training your mind to do what you think is important. I am sure you can find more information on the Internet to help you.

That's true, I was always a daydreamer...well, i haven' reached 30 yet... I guess I was born with it. I write a lot too... and I'm good at studying, I think I just need to be more spontaneous... just stop thinking in general, but that would be a scary thought.

I only remember things that seems important. But ofcourse not all. Most of the time when I experienced something unimportant, I will just forget it and don't remember anything at all. But like you, it is hard to forget uneventful things.
