Haunted Houses Associated With Halloween

A lot of people like going to haunted houses during the Halloween holiday however, I don't. Believe it or not, the last haunted house I went to, I broke someone's nose. I sure did!! I was about 19 years old and haven't been to a haunted house since nor will I either! lol What happened was, I was standing in line waiting to get in with a bunch of my friends and the line was shaped into a U, at one point of the U, there was a hearse. I'm petrified of a hearse and so is my brother next to me in age. I don't know why we're petrified of them but we are. In fact, neither of us want to be in one when we die. We don't care how we get to our destinations as long as we're not put in a damned hearse. I kept looking over the shoulders of my friends to see how much closer we were getting to the hearse but then we got into a conversation that I forgot to watch for the hearse till we got right up on it! I liked to have jumped out of my skin when I saw it was so close!! I stepped out of line till the line had moved enough that I wouldn't be near it again. So by the time my friends and I got inside, I was pretty much already shaken up but kept reminding myself that this stuff isn't real but it didn't do any good. Who ever put it together did a really good job. lol Then we came up on this 'bridge' and there were ribbons on each side with people hiding behind them and they reached out and grabbed my ankles! I jumped out of my skin (yet again) and out of reaction I kicked and kicked HARD all the while screaming my head off! Then I heard a crash boom! Then "AWWWWWW MY NOSE!!!!" I stood frozen from fear and then some how my rubbery legs came back to life and I FLEW like a bat outta hell!!!! I didn't stop for anyone but found the exit and I left and vowed to NEVER EVER go to another one!! And I didn't and won't. lol Have you ever been so scared while in a haunted house? Would you or do you go to haunted houses for Halloween?

I did once in the early/mid 1970's, and while I wasn't that scared, I didn't like standing in line that long THEN, and can't now... However, years AND years later I got to enter that house on a fund raising event for AAUW with my mom and, while I knew then that the house was used because it was getting ready to be remodeled, I was just blown away with how beautiful it was.

remember, my interests are in science fiction and will, if given a chance, go where I might not be allowed When I went to the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London, the roommate wanted to go to the Chamber of Horrors. Fine with me, and we went - I spotted a guy with the group that wasn't acting quite "right" for the tour and I tried to follow him into a spot that turned out wasn't really part of the tour... the guy who stopped me said "He was bad, we're making him go through again." Obviously he was actually known by the staff. I guess being in my 20's was part of the reason for not being afraid at haunted house.

I never go to them. I did, however, set one up in a deserted house on our church campgrounds when I was about seventeen. I had some help of course, but I had a lot of the ideas. I do not know where they came from, but you know, I had people tell me it was one of the scariest ones they ever attended. I do not even like haunted houses.

The property where my present dwelling is built is supposedly a haunted place. When ever there is full moon some people can see a lady with long hair walking in the dark without her legs touching the ground. I have not seen one before and wish to encounter and find out who she really was. There are few units of houses in this property and there is one big bungalow that is next to my house is truly a haunted house. I rented this house out but none of the tenants stay longer than 3 months. Most of the tenants complained that they heard footsteps and the sound of plates being washed in the kitchen during the night. I have asked someone to perform rituals to exorcised the place, the spirits will go for a while but they'll return again.

I've heard of burning sage will keep the spirits away for a while or even for good. I don't know but that's what I've heard. Try it, it might work! Now I know I couldn't live in a haunted house. No way! I'd be out in a split second and left all my belongings behind! lol Scare me and I'm GONE!

Hi Cats how funny I had almost the same thing happened to me but the ankle grabbed scared the p out of me and I kicked out in the darkness and heard a male voice sceram oh my G you broke my arm. I was on a winding staircase in this blackened college gym and there was maybe ten people behind me. I tried to hurry back down that stair case and all ten of us in this darkened room went tumbling down the stairs. We all got some bruises and I got a torn ligament in my knee. this college haunted house was a total diseaster and those bloody boys were rthe ony ones haveing fun,as they were the ankle grabbers. So one torn up knee and a broken wrist were not the fun times for me and whoever it was that i kicked. I never went to another Halloween haunted house again My right knee even now is still subject to hurt at times. It was injured that night and just had a mild treatment such as campus doctors give. nothing mopre.

I love that kind of thing! I get scared but I love it. I love scary movies, books anything spooky. I have visited a real haunted hotel. There are photographs of ghosts peering through the windows and it is renowned for its paranormal activity. I didn’t ‘see’ anything while I was there but I plan on going to a night tour of the old jail here next...I can’t believe you broke someone’s nose! You must have been petrified and it sure sounds like spooky activity is not for you!

You dear have more courage than I'll EVER know!! Are you nuts? lol You give me chills! ARG!! lol I didn't mean to break the person's nose, I think it was a guy but not sure but it was a reaction to get 'it' off of me and I didn't mean to hurt the person but I just know I did. That's when I said that was it, no more ever again and I've kept my word.

Opppss. I wonder if that person likes them still. I like the mild ones, not the real scary ones. They cost too much plus I don't like being startled and it worries me about being pushed, falling down and getting hurt. You have a story like this and also I read where Hatley has a story about getting hurt. I don't like being in crowds like that, specially in the pitch black darkness, not my cup of tea. I do love Halloween though, I love going out with the kids trick or treating. The last few years I have gone out with my grandson, I get dressed up like Santa Claus, last year I had my pic taken three times. Somebody even asked my permission to put me on his facebook.

The last "haunted" house I went to was actually called a Hell House. Maybe I should leave it at that.

I don't like haunted houses either. It isn't that I am scared of the fake blood and stuff like that, I just don't like people jumping out at me. I don't like to be startled at all. My kids used to love to jump out and scare me as did my husband. I don't know why but when I am startled I almost feel like I am going to have a heart attack. It takes a real long time for me to calm down and my heart feels like it is going to rip out of my chest.
