why to happen like that, from first hand the government has to provide information if the status of Mount Merapi would erupt in a situation like the incident in 2006, when the government had different opinions with mbah merijan, just when it sided with mbah merijan circumstances , this where is to blame?

Thank you. I am in good shape, because I live 20 km from Mount Merapi. Actually there should be no victims, because, since Monday the government had to evacuate. But many of the residents who refused to evacuate.

Ash raining down to where you live, this is very dangerous, what you do not evacuate. You should flee for your safety and your family.Merapi is still wary now, you have to keep vigilant.

I do not need to evacuate, because where I live 20 km from the mountain. Not in disaster prone areas. Ash rain that fell in my house, not so thick.

The rain os ash can be very dangerous also. Keep your house closed up and only go out with your nose and mouth covered. Take great care of yourself and your family.

I did hear the news about this on the radio this morning and I feel so very sorry for the loss of life and the fear that folks there would have felt when the volcano erupted. It is a sad shame...I hope you and your family are still okay. I guess that you have to keep all your windows and doors closed and I would imagine you have to have your mouth and nose covered too if you go outside. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Let me correct you, the warn of eruption was released over a week ago, and some of people ignore it. Last night I see on TV, a family crying out by the phone asking for help to the president since they location was isolated. What are they doing a days before this happend? Are they never heard the notification before? I bet they heard already, they smart enough to call one of tv station for help, but they are "too smart" to read the real facts of Merapi. I don't know why this can happend, but have learned from 2006 when the same warning was announced to the people of Merapi, some of them keep in their believe that the Merapi won't hurt them since they believe "the spirit of merapi" has spoke to the elder, and yes the Merapi not spits her materials out of her bellies. And now, they do the same, and this superstitious behavior continue. Too shame... I hope they can survive and God may protect them and give their chance to realized all of this was designed by Him and only His can save them, not from hear say from the spirits.

Yes. is unfortunate, people still believe in mystical things. Warning the government, ignored by the residents. Since Monday is actually already done the evacuation, but many residents who refused, on Monday if they want to evacuate, they will not become victims.

Hi, indahfth! Sad to hear that! It's better not to travel around an active volcano, right? Hope the volcano won't erupt more fiercely so that your life won't be disturbed.

I am sorry for all the victims of the disaster in your area, Indah. I think Indonesia has been hit by a series of disasters over the past few years. Flood, earthquakes and mount eruption comes and go after one another. Even now at the same time, our brothers and sisters in Mentawai are hit by earthquake. I hope Indonesian people who suffer from those disasters are strong and patient enough. God... give them strength to face all these problems.
