Black Friday

Now my sleep has always been important to me. I have never gotten out of bed at 4 in the morning or any other ungodly hour to run down to Wal-Mart or wherever in search of a killer deal on something I wanted to buy anyway. The time and the sleep has always been worth more to me than the money. But I am getting a bit tired of the wee people hogging my computer because theirs is too slow. So I would love to pick up a laptop, but the durn things are a bit pricey, and I'm trying to get some things paid off here. Somebody online mentioned that they might go after a deal on a laptop on Black Friday. And now I'm thinking about it. I can always come home afterward and take a nap, right? Do any of you go after Black Friday deals? What have you picked up at a bargain that you are really happy about?

my friendly neighborhood Walmart had a Compaq on sale for under $400 today - didn't want one, so didn't stop to see what all it had...

That's odd, HP bought Compaq years ago, and I had no idea they were still selling things under that name.

So do I - something lovely and cheap Just wish that I could have been with her. But I will be with her, please God, when she has their first child as she wants to have a baby immediately.shed Something else wonderful happened. I ruto my Dr on thursday as my heart was fibrillating and my son BB'd her after school not knowing that she was talking to some parent. She read the message and the parents asked her what was wrong and she told them it was her mother = bp out of control and fibrillation. She did not know the they parents were cardiologists who OWNED the newest cardiology Centre on the Island and they told her to make an appointment for me and I would be treated free as she has proven to be such an amazing teacher who has motivated their son to work and excel. Isn't this wonderful? I am only partially covered by Insurance and now this blessing comes. Blessings

I've never shopped on Black Friday and don't plan to this year either. I don't like getting up early and I don't like being bounced around like a ping pong ball in the aisles. I'd do my shopping online, if I really wanted anything. Dawn, if you miss Black Friday, you might want to just wait until after Christmas. That's another good time to buy. But I'm not sure about laptops???

I hate crowds, I hate getting up early, etc. Somebody suggested that some Black Friday deals are available online, so I'm going to check into that!

There is no such thing in my country, I mean we have no those HUUUGE discounts. It's crasy to see the crouds invading the stores and prices with 70% discount. And here in Europe computer things are so expensive... It would be horrible to get up at 4 in the morning, but I have an idea - just don't go to bed. And you can take a leave for the day!

I have been to Black Friday twice since there were good deals from video games, movies, DVD players, etc. Twice me and my dad woke up at 2am in the morning and got to the store at 3am waiting in line till 5am when the door opens. Worst part it was freezing cold and people were shoving. The past two years, there haven't been any good deals for Black Friday lately so I haven't gone to any. If there are good deals for this year, than I would go again since we are pretty tight on money and getting great deals on Black Friday is the best.

I've been trying to find a good deal on Mario games for my Nintendo DS, but on Black Friday it's the same original price. It's always $35 and it should be at least $20 since the Mario games that I want is more than 3 years old. But they never lower their prices since it's Mario. I hope they do lower it this Black Friday. I got the Nintendo GameCube for $100 since it was the last year for the console being sold and got some games for $5 to $10 on a Black Friday. I didn't went, but my parents did and got me that for Christmas.

I've gone black friday shopping the last 3 years. I've gotten some good deals. It's funny you say about getting a laptop because I'm on the laptop I got last black friday. It is a $600 laptop i got it for $200 on black friday. I would check with your walmart how they are doing things. the year before last we went in and you couldn't touch anything before 5 am. This year we went in at 3am because we were on our way back from toys r us that had their sale at midnight. When we got in to walmart they were already letting people get things except for the big stuff like tv's camera's and computers. so we had to get a ticket for the laptop and wait there till 5 am to get it. If you weren't standing there with your ticket at 5am then you lost out on it. So my husband stood in line while i went around and got the other things we were looking for.

You got a good system there Ravinskye.. my hubby can't come with me though as he's home sleeping with the kids.. it's all me. But I don't buy those really expensive items, so no big deal. If I do ever go for one I'll be sure to bring a friend so we can tag team like that.

i wish we had a black Friday here but my co-worker was just telling me this morning how she got these silver jeans (brand name) and how they are generally upwards of $80 but what came up at the register was $8.00! i once bought a magnetic board for work at walmart and the price that came up was 10 cents! so naturally i bought it!

Yes I tend to if I have the money for it.. but I don't buy big ticket items, can't afford them. I go for the silly little things like pajamas for $3 and stuff like that. There's really only like 1 or 2 things that I get that would be gone quick.. so I don't HAVE to get there so early.. but I do anyways just because. Like I said.. If I can afford to.

Last year I got up early for the $15 V-Smile.. the pajamas and $10 Dark Knight on Blu Ray were just bonuses! Got a few other toys too. But you know.. in my situation I gotta do what I gotta do to save a few bucks.

I usually do get up and hit the stores on Black Friday..lol..the crowds are crazy but I have gotten some really good deals. I guess the best deal I got was ipod for around $30. It was for one of the girls for Christmas. I am thinking I might try some internet shopping this year though.

Internet shopping sounds much better to me. Even if it has to be at 3 in the morning, at least I can turn right around and go to bed!!!

Black Friday is totally worth the lack of sleep, in my opinion :-) You may be grumpy while shopping BUT you'll be glad you did it later! I typically end up picking up tons of little deals. Last year our biggest deal we got was a microwave. This year I think my hubby and I are going for one of the big ticket items - A TV! Can't wait!!

I've actually Black Friday shopped for almost as long as I can remember. Last year I was after comforter sets for my children and I'd hoped to get a desk chair for my husband, but I missed out on that one. The best deals that I've ever gotten, however was about four years ago when I stood in line all night at Best Buy to get a computer monitor for my husband and I also ended up getting a color printer that year as well for my mother.

Nope, I NEVER even think about shopping on Black Friday . . . knowing me I probably wouldn't get what I wanted anyway. I'd rather go on a non-crazy day on my time and get exactly what I need in just a few minutes without waiting in a long line - as long as it's still sort of a deal. I'm always getting bargains throughout the year, so it doesn't bug me if I miss Black Friday deals.

I did one time, right after I bought my new big house, I went shopping black Friday and got a new big Christmas Tree for half price. You might consider cyber Monday, then you can shop in your Jammies. You are correct however, you can always come home and take a nap, unless you would be a poor person who was required to work in Retail on that day to please all the super shoppers.

I have always gone to Black Friday sales. While sleep is important inthe economy and everything else going on I need to be able to save money where I can so I can put what I save toward bills or whatever else my family may need at the time. I just got my daughter involved in it a couple years ago and though she hatees the early wake up she loves the deals. She just got married and she finds this day as a way to get what she wants and not feel guilty cuz she still has bills to pay. We get all kinds of deals. Movies from 2-5 dollars, TV seriesfor 10 dollars. Last year my daughter got the 16 gig I-pod touch for 195 with a 50 dollar i tunes gift card. Black friday is so worth the wake up call. Plus go home and if you're not to busy gloating over your newly bought bounty take a nap. That's what my daughter and husband do. Unless she's haed too much coffe lol.

I've never done the Black Friday thing because I hate crowds and I'm not that enthusiastic about shopping. But my college friends use to go every year. They would meet up around 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning, camp out in front of the nearest electronic store and do most of their holiday shopping then: cameras for family members, phones for boyfriends, gadgets for friends, etc. They say it is the best time to get electronics.

I've read in an article, I think in Yahoo Shine, that Black Friday's are a scam to get people pressured to shop thinking that they're getting a good deal. You should drop by the store about a week prior to the big sale and check out their normal prices to compare if they'd be really on sale during Black Friday =)
