Has your opinion of horror movies changed since you have gotten older?

I find that I don't really like watching horror or slasher movies any more. It is not because I am scared because they don't scare me, but more because I don't like seeing all the killing or the ending of lives. I know it is just a movie but I find nothing thrilling about watching people die. I think it is because I am older now and I just can't think about death casually any more. For what ever reason have you found that your opinion of horror or even violent movies have changed for you as you have gotten older.

Nope! I saw The Changeling back in 1980 and it's been my favorite horror film ever since!

The changling was actually one of the first horror movies I ever saw. I was 13 years old. I was terrified to look down at the floor of my room in the dark and i would not look at a bathtub for the longest time, thankfully I had a shower in my bathroom. I would not take baths for years after I saw that movie.

Yes, I agree with you. My opinion of horror movies has changed recently. We watched a couple over the weekend and I realized that I just don't like them anymore. I think it is the same as you. I think when you get older, you start to value life and watching people die just isn't fun or cool. It is quite sad if you think about it. I need to find another genre to watch nowadays.

I should say it has, very much so. During my college years, I used to go to movie theatres atleast 3 times a week, and would like all different types of movies. Horror movies are my favorites, in fact. No, not these days any more. I stay away from them, and prefer watching movies which are more pleasant and relaxing, comedies and musicals.

I used to love horror movies and I still like some of them but I think some of the newer onces like the SAW series and ones like those are just a little too...I don't know just gross and wrong maybe because stuff like that could really happen so I don't want to think about it. but I do still like my monster movies like Halloween,Nightmare on elm street,Friday the thirteenth, Child's play and movies like those

I can kind of take those slasher type movies with a grain a salt. They are usually so bad they are humorous. But I just don't like all the killing.

I like horror movies, if they fail to scare you they will at the least make you laugh. Slasher movies are just gross.

I think that watching horror movies is just a way to vent your stress.Because you can scream loudly when you are scared by the scenes, then you'll feel your body and your mind relax. The most scared movie is not horror movie, but the cliffhang movie which make you think more and more.In the end,the movie scenes do not scare you,but the images in your mind do it.

They used to scare me but now I find them so campy and not very intimidating. I've seen a few horror movies that are more psychological than gory so those last a little longer in my mind. I don't think getting older has anything do to with it I think its just not as thrilling as when you're younger. There is more to be scared about when you're young, I've seen a lot, nothing scares me anymore. Now its just grosses me out.

I enjoyed horror films even as a child. I liked the fear factor in a fim. Nothing much has changed since I've gotten a bit older. I still have the same opinion on horror films that i did as a child. they are a scream!

I never ever like slashing and violence movies right from the childhood.... But I like the horror movies very very much.... Horror movies which involve spirits, ghosts and all..... And even mystery movies..... And my opinion for such horror movies haven't changed..... Though I am not getting as scared as I used to be a few years earlier.....!!!
