are you photogenic or camera-shy?

I have a few photos of myself when I was young. I get scared when facing the camera. 15 years ago during my sister's birthday party, my aunt forced me to smile in front of the camera. I smiled but my tears began to fall. I still have the picture and my sisters kept on laughing at at it. Until now, I walk away when someone screams "PICTURE!"
I don't look good in my photos. I edit it on Adobe Photoshop before posting it on my Facebook account. I delete photos when I look ugly. Friends don't let me touch their cameras anymore because I delete it on purpose.
Why am I so insecure. I really wish I have a beautiful stolen shot picture.

Did you have a traumatic event considering beauty when you were younger? I personally like to make ugly faces when my photos are taken. I think my face is pretty funny and I enjoy it the way it is. I have become camera-shy after my divorce because I was paranoid of my ex but other than that, I still like silly photos compared to trying take a perfect picture.

I don't know how to smile. I think I need a cheekbone implants or botox. Just joking. I don't smile when I was younger. When I try making funny faces, they look worse! So I try to make a safe smile. But all my pictures look the same. I just need practice and try to love a camera.

I feel like I used to be photogenic but now I don't look so good. I think part of it has to do with I'm not happy with how I look. Some of being photogenic though is just taking pictures at the right angles. Don't take pictures with the camera below you...that gives even the skinniest person a double chin. A LOT of people take pictures like that! And it's okay to untag or delete photos where you look bad! When models get their picture taken, there are HUNDREDS taken of them and only a couple that are good enough to make the final cut. And those are models...you're allowed to have bad shots too!

I am abit inbetween, but a little more towards being camera shy. I don't mind having my photo taken but i don't like it when its a surprise. I'm happy being on family photos but not in strangers photos because i don't want people i don't know having photos of me.

Oh, you are not really just camera-shy, it seems that you are afraid of taking photos. Have some confidience for yourself. People will look better when they are natrual. In fact when you have a bright smile, it will be a great photo already.

Iam a camera-shy person. Men/boys is not like woman/girl in order to pose. Most men/boys feel shy if the should posing for someting. It's just like me, I really shy to pose in front of camera. In somebody take my picture, i will never pose overacting.

Same issue here also. I was also bit insecure to photo. In my college days I used to ignore if somebody used to ask me to take a group photo. Now also I feel insecure whe n someone invites me for photo. I think I don't look as I am in photo. I look bad in photo. But at the other end there are people who are always fond of photos. I am always shy for a group photo and always think taht I am not looking perfect.

I don't look perfect as well. I don't like someone to take pictures of me but I am wasting my youth. I should have a memory of my face when I am still young. I want to have a remembrance of my youthful days. But I look ugly! That's the problem.

I really do not like having my picture taken. Looking back at so many of my pictures from when I was a kid until now if someone wants me to take my picture I try to smile and look happy but then when I see the photo I have this scared unsure look on my face. I hate how I look when other people take my picture. I take pictures of myself but I will take like 30 before I get say 2 that I am happy with. I've always been told that I'm photogenic and to me that just means that I'm ugly but look pretty in pictures.

I look better in a photo than in real life.But there is nothing to feel bad if you are photogenic.When you look good in real life,why feel bad about it if you do not appear so when they look at you in real life?You should feel happy that you are attractive in real life and not feel upset because a photo can't reveal the real beauty in you.

But photo's are forever. If I look bad in it, that will be the face I'll be presenting to my future kids. I don't want to look horrible. I look good in real life, but on pictures, it doesn't look like me.
I kept on looking at my friend's photos in Facebook. She's not really beautiful, but in her pictures, she looks like a model. Maybe it's a trick of the light. LOL

I am pretty camera shy. I rarely look like myself in pics (I think anyway) so I prefer not to be in them to be honest. I have always been like this, I don't really know why...

Never a photogenic, always a camera shy...but im doing my best to get over that fear, i hope you would too...i try taking pictures on my own so it would be easier...
