Hello every one.I am Saurav from India. My PayPal account is not yet verified.I have already linked my bank to PayPal.It is yet to be verified.Being a student its not easy to get a Credit Card. Also I don't have any Salary account.I only have a Saving's Account in S B I. The bank manager said try to get verified by using S B I Yuva Debit Card. But still it did not work.PayPal refused to accept it.Its high time for me now.I am already frustrated. The bank manager says the only option left is to get a Credit Card. But for that I have to make a minimum fixed deposit of Rs 20,000 or 452 $ approximately. I am ready to do that but still I have a fear that PayPal may refuse that Credit Card.I just wanted to know whether it is possible to get verified in PayPal by Debit Card. Please help me if anyone from India have got verified using Debit Card. Also suggest me which bank's debit or credit Card will be accepted by PayPal with out any issue.I badly need your help.

@ssahu7 Well for that you have to get your Card activated for net banking. You have to consult your respective branch manager or any one who is dealing with credit/debit cards. Now a days there is a separate section ''cards'' in every SBI branch. You have to ask them for net banking form. After filling and submitting you have to wait for 7 to 15 days. Then you will be provided a new User ID and Password. After activating you card you can freely get out money through internet banking.Have a nice day

you can use any debit card having logo of mastercard or visa and having vcc code. i think you should go to any private bank like hdfc, abn amro or any other bank near you and inquire them about this issue.

I have a simalar problem, I am from a non pay pal servincing country and I only have a unverifed account. I just wanted to use my pay pal account to have my earnings from websites credited to it and purchase things using paypal. I do not have an intention to credti my earnings to my bank account in my country. I think, you only need to have a credit card to have your paypal account verifed and can conduct business with paypal. How credit card is issue in India is something I would not have any idea to advise on you on. May just apply and get one, if you can, and just use for your paypal account transfer of funds only. Good luck.

Yes you are right PayPal is taking only Credit Card for granted. But since I am a student and I don't have any salary account.so it is difficult for me to get it.It is not like applying and getting.I have talked to my bank manager. He says that I have to make a minimum fixed deposit of Rs 20,000 to get a credit card. For the moment I don't have that much big amount.I will be waiting for my Father to help me.Anyways thanks for your concern.Have a nice day.

I had this problem too but I had a credit card and it was easily verified by paypal. They took some charge of around $1.95 from me and then the account became verified. My friend had verified it through his bank account and had no problem. You must talk about your problem with Paypal and ask them the problem. As fas as possible, don't use paypal for the simple reason that the charges cut are very heavy for the Indians. For example: If you receive $1 from another person then after the charges the actual amount deposited will be only $0.66!

I am using ICICI bank's credit card and it was approved very fast. Anyways, I think that Paypal accepts all the credit cards.

I am looking forward to have a credit card.It will be available to me if I make a fixed deposit of 20,000 or above. But I have a fear that even after doing all this if PayPal refuse my credit card then it would be very pity.By the way which bank's credit card do you use?Hope to get a response from you soon.Have a nice day.

Yes, your paypal account can be verified by using a debit card. I'm using a debit card as well and i have no problem with paypal verifying my account. Debit card can be link to your savings account and that's not a problem. Did u managed to get your debit card in the first place? By right, paypal should accept it, because debit card can be used worldwide, just like a credit card. Since it's not paypal's problem, maybe it's the bank's problem or maybe just because u are from india?

It depends on the country to which you belong.May be PayPal is accepting debit cards from your country. But from India it is accepting only few debit cards from selective banks.Since 6 months PayPal has changed its rules.I am really suffering now.

Saurav,as far as I am aware there were some issues going on between PayPal India and the regulatory authorities which have been sorted out now.I don't think we need a credit card to get our account verified as I too don't have a credit card and my bank account is also a savings account. The only difference perhaps is that my account was in ICICI bank which probably has a better net banking facility than some of the other public sector banks in the country.I'd suggest you to use your SBI net banking feature and try getting the verification done.If that doesn't work, try open a student's account with Icici bank. That should do it.All the best!!..:)

mr saurav if i where you, use alertpay instead... because some of my friend indian people use alertpay instead of paypal.. because i think there is a problem in paypal to your country,(i dont know what is the real reason of paypal) to verify your paypal account use debit or credit card, because the purpose of your bank account is to transfer funds in your bank only... they are diffrent..

AlertPay is fine but it has many security related issues.I will only prefer PayPal.It is world wide accepted.Anyways thanks for participating in my thread.Have a nice day.
