Invaded Your Country and My Country from the Past......

If we studied our country in history, there's one thing that I notice. I notice that some countries had invaded our country to create colonialism. Like here in the Philippines. Spaniards invade our country here in the Philippines and built a government. Filipinos and Spaniards called our country as "Mother Spain" because it was colonized by the Spaniards, but now, Spanish were no longer ruled our country. Another is India, there history was ruled by British--- am I correct? Correct me if I'm wrong. I think, they built there government in India from the past. It is not only in India and in the Philippines. I think, it's the same as other countries. I don't want to mention it all because it's so hard to list them all. Those countries that invade other countries are powerful and some are rich in resources, but what I don't understand is why they need to invade and colonize a country if they're already powerful and rich in resources? Are they not contented of what they have? ---or they just want us to be influenced by their culture? ---or they just want to spread Christianity? ---because Christianity were taught by Spaniards here in the Philippines.

Hello INtrovertshy, It was still the Medieval age, times where powerful empires where competing for colonization and exploitation of resources. just to let you know, back then the Spanish was the most powerful empire then before the British came into power after defeating Spanish Fleet. of course, to expand culture and show the world how poweful the spaniards are. At least INdia were able to strive the british back. we were free for the moment, just after we were invaded by americans and later then japanese.

what i remembered as what i studies, Philippines were colonized due to ff reasons: 1. to expand their land and powers - i believe the basis of their powers before was thru land. the more land a country possesses, the more powerful it is than others. 2. to spread Christianity - it is also a form of spreading powers.

It's a flaw in human nature.. what some refer to as a fallen human nature.. Always wanting more.. first more power, more influence.. more wealth also. Human flaw and imperfection is a part of all humanity, every ethnic group, nation and group.. But it's always the wealthy powerful ones of the group, not thankfully the whole group (although of course all persons are imperfect)and usually the every day people of the group have no say in the matter, and what was done was done by their governments..

It seems like it has to do a lot with money and capital. Different parts of the world have different things and to keep the flow of money going, people need to reach out to other places in the world. Some places have great resources that they can use and that everyone needs so conquerors wanted that land to have possession over the expensive things. This way, if there are wars and misunderstandings they can have full power over whatever they claimed first. They are not happy with what they have because who knows what the future may hold... just like how people still keep working, nobody's content with the amount of money they have now.

Well Empires, or countries invade so they can: get more resources needed, to get more power to get more people to join their cause to expand their influcence to compete with other empires well my no.1 one reason is pretty obvious no.2, get more power: if they have invaded some country, like example japan and china before WW2, japan get some attention with the world powers thereby gaining more power when it comes to not being shove off or push around. no.3 people to join their cause: remember when india was under british rule? those indians faught with them in WW2 and some other local wars. no.4 expand their influence, well it is associated with no.2 really but invading a country made Germany gain influence with italy and spain and russia in some point of WW2 no.5 well competing with other empires, another self explanatory.
