Recently I have been interested in who Leonardo Da Vinci was, and all about his works. I have found out many things about him, of which the most interesting would have to be his style of writing. He used a mirror style, also a short hand style, some references even say that he may have put words together, or separated them to make it unable to read. One book states that he wrote his notebooks and had it in all sorts of order, while another mentions that his notebooks were titled in such a way to state he has the intention to organize them at a later date. A lot of us have his famouse painting of The Last Supper in our homes, or know someone who does. Some of us might even want one (me). What do you think of Leonardo Da Vinci? Is there any particular aspect of his life that you enjoy reading about and would you like to share? There is so much to be learned about The Renaissance Period and it's people. I believe that Leonardo is one of my favorite people from that time, and I've been doing in research on him, he's even inspired me to learn Italian!

Have you read The Agony and the Ecstasy - A Biographical Novel of Michelangelo by Irving Stone. I think that if you are interested in Da Vinci and the The Renaissance Period you would also enjoy this book, it really is wonderful and it really is more about the Renaissance Period itself rather than Michelangelo in my opinion. It is a large book with about 800 pages but it is a fantastic read - I'm sure that you would enjoy it.

I believe I would enjoy it... I'll email myself the title so I can look it up at a later date, thank you. Yes, I've also been looking up about people that were associated with Leonardo in some way.

People like him were so ahead of his time. He was eccentric, which kinda explains that he thought outside the box a lot. He didn't let things get in the way of what he loved to do, even though he was persecuted for it. I wouldn't exactly want to be exactly like him, but the way he didn't let his creativity know no bounds is something that we should all follow.

I really liked the way you described him! It's true we should all let our creativity no no bounds... explore and conquer, right?

Da Vinci was very knowledgeable about so many things besides just painting. He advanced the then knowledge of such things as anatomy and engineering. He was a scientist and thought up such things as solar power and that of a helicopter too long before such things were even thought about.

I have just finished reading a book in which Da Vinci figures, called 'The Medici Seal'. What a coincidence!

I am enjoying finding out more and more about him. The internet seems to have repetitive sources on who he was, but I have read a bit of an ebook that was written in the 1800's about him, and I find it interesting to read it and also read about things people have learned since then.

Leonardo da Vinci has been a great teacher of the art in all the expression. Being me italian, i know very well his high qualities.
