I hate being in front of people, so if I had to say or anything, that makes it much worse. But the worse that ever happened to me was the "surprise" attack. My daughter was going to do a dace for Purim at this church who was clueless about this Biblical holiday. (I was the choreographer, but since it was about Esther, I was too old and big to portray her, so I had my daughter do it) Well, before they started the music, the pastor's wife handed me a microphone and asked me to explain the feast.
I was not ready and don't even remember what I said...

Oh I don't know, even though I can't remember what I said, I do recall breathing and talking fast, so I probably made no sense at all..lol

Oh yes, I had. I will never forget that horrible experience. It was when I was still in high school. I was chosen to speak for the class in one of the get-together sessions. There was a huge audience waiting to hear what I would be saying. Oh, I was trembling head to toe. They didn't notice that. I just spoke for two minutes and that's it. An unforgetable experience.

This reminds me of when "B" was performing in his dance recital and he just stood there staring in to the crowd! That was so funny! I had total stage fright and I stopped performing in front of people once I reached high school. I was ok in groups, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything solo. I really regret it now. But, it was a product of low self-esteem. I just didn't believe I was any good.

most people have stage fright but others have learned how to control their jitters. most of us scared that we might make mistakes, bloopers or we wont be good enough for the audience. were simply afraid of being embarrassed and criticized.personally, i feel horrible when i have to perform infront of the public. but maybe when im in a band, im the frontgirl and the guitarist,i will go along just fine and finish my songs. =)

Oh performing in front of audience, even for a small groups in many times gave me stage fright. It always brings a chilly feeling out of me. In my school days, it's public speaking subject class that I was always inactive. I do perform dancing, even in front of huge crowd because I have confidence that I can do it and that's why I can do it better in front of a live audience than public speaking. I don't know why my performance in a dance always excite me and I am doing better than public speaking although bought faces a public audience. As for the public speaking, oh my... I have some coldness and was in stage fright. Like you do, I do have it, but sometimes I do not. One of the things I do is to take a drink or have a call with my mother and chat a little while so it that it likely prepares me. Now, I am lucky that I am already in my job and will not do the public speaking thing... that's why I prefer writing, my ideas are read about and I do not need to face someone while I express ideas.

I never really got stage fright when it came to dancing either. I sing as well so speaking in public is not hard for me as I find it is much harder to sing in public then to talk. Sometimes I get stage fright before I sing, but once I have the first few words out I am fine. I am always afraid I am going to start to sing and it is going to come out all wrong or I will squeek or something wierd like that, but once I get going I know I am OK. Nothing bad has every happened to me while singing but I just have that fear that it might.
