I have been hearing about herbal values of garlic. With the advice of some of my friends, I have been trying garlic to keep my blood pressure under control, eating fresh garlic, adding into different soup preparations, and so on. It certainly is helping. Do you believe in herbal values of garlic ?

Hi greenline~ Yes, I do believe in eating garlic. I have always heard that it does help lower blood pressure. In fact, years ago I had an older neighbor who took "garlic supplements" that were natural in capsule form and ate tons of garlic in cooking too! I happen to love the taste and have high blood pressure! But, unfortunately my pressure couldn't be controlled so I have been on meds for about 20 years or more now and that includes watching my sodium intake~

Yes, I do believe in the health benefits of natural or organic foods such as garlic. Garlic has been widely used in herbal medicine. It's best used raw then crushed or chopped because some of its beneficial effects wear off when cooked. It has medicinal properties like antihypertensive or lowers blood pressure, antibiotic or fights some disease-causing bacteria, anti-fungal or problems associated with fungal infections, antioxidant which helps us keep ourselves healthy from within, among others. The proper use of garlic to prevent or manage some health conditions are encouraged in the health education or campaigns conducted by some health care professionals, however, they continue to remind people that it isn't the only or most effective treatment available. If symptoms persist or for worse conditions, it's advisable to seek appropriate medical treatment right away. In addition, garlic should be used in moderation because it has also its negative effects like any other medication. One negative effect is that it's irritating on our stomach once consumed in large amounts. Garlic should be a part of our healthy diet but it should not be treated as a substitute. It's still best to eat a wide array of nutritious and well-balanced food to maintain good health. =)

Garlic helps with Blood Pressure. I have never heard of that one. I know there are garlic pills out there but never knew what they could really help. But if garlic is good for Blood Pressure wonder why they do not tend to share this? I guess it is because then more people would try this instead of taking their Blood Pressure pills and more people being in danger of other things as well?

I do believe in it. There have been so many articles, and so much research done on the subject that I do believe in the health benefits of garlic. Even Dr. Oz says it is good for the body. It is all natural so even if it had no health benefits it tastes good and is all natural. My Grandfather was from Italy, ate garlic every night and lived to by 97, that has to say something.

Oh yes I do believe in the herbal values of garlic. As a matter of fact, I trust more the herbal medicines than those of the synthetic. It's really feels good to go back to the basics. Besides, most of our modern health care products came from these herbal medicines.

Yes I do. I belong to a family where we have a history of hyper tension. And I saw my aunts eat cloves of garlic just to control their blood pressure. Garlics are very popular ingredients in cooking, but they also have healing powers. Garlics are effective decongestant, expectorant for cough and colds, relieves sore throats and sinusitis. They help lower blood pressure. When used externally they can be used for insect bites, burns and boils.

Yes, I do believe in herbal value of garlic, my father has high blood pressure and he always use garlic in his meal, when ever we prepare meal for him, we include garlic, it is normal in our society that people use garlic in their food and it is very good, beside this their are other herbs which are used traditionally from very long and they have their own value, but now due to the introduction of modern techniques and medicine people rarely use these herbs, in our villages if you ask from new generation they ll not know the herbal value of a certain plant but the old generation they know the value of different herbal plants....:) Happy myLotting
