School Photos

Daughter's school photo - There were several but this was one of my two favorites that I would have chosen for the 8x10 if my daughter hadn't already chosen a different one. Still, I was thrilled with them all.

Last year I removed my daughter from the local school. Now she attends school online. It is her Junior year in high school and school photos were pretty well up to us. I had a friend take my daughter out and take her school photos for me. I think she did a pretty good job. I was thrilled with the results. See what you think.

Thanks for sharing the photo. Your daughter looks so happy, young and vibrant. From looking at the picture, i can say that she looks happy and contented. Kudos to the photographer too! Its my first time to hear about high school to be taken online. How does this work? Thanks for sharing!

In Oregon we have a couple of options for online high school. One is called Insight School of Oregon and we register through the local school. The other is called Connections Academy and is available in several different states. Check with your local school counselor to see what is available in your state. These schools are state run and funded. They are public schools serving remote people and people who just want to have their kids schooled in a home environment. It's great. They provide the computers and support. You do have to have DSL internet and a wireless router from your local phone company but the rest is provided by the school. Insight school is provided through Angel learning center. Unlike most online schools, these schools don't have tuition you have to pay. It's the only way I could afford to have my daughter in their school. Most of my daughter's schoolwork is online. She has classes online with live instructors and then completes all her assignments on her computer. They do have a graduation ceremony in Portland for those who want to participate. Some don't go to the activities since they are so far away and we don't attend for that reason but I am trying to save up and hope to be able to take my daughter to Portland to graduate with her class there.

This is a great idea alaskanray! You get to spend more time with your daughter at home and you can also monitor how she's doing. It's similar to home schooling but the modules and homeworks are given online. This is a great help for people who live far from the school and i think it also helps in the finances aspect because the kids especially the parents would be saving some amount of money for their children's allowance. I hope and pray that you'll save enough for tour daughter's graduation. I think it will be a great experience for her if she could go to the graduation ceremony itself. Thanks for sharing and for explaining to me the concept of online schooling.

When my children were in school I decided not to choose school photos because they are so plain. Every year I would take them and have their photos made at Olan Mills or a place like that. For just a fraction of the money I got great pictures. Now that the digital cameras are out and not near as expensive as they used to be I plan on doing a lot of my grandchildrens photos at home instead of at photography places. But, for your daughters photo, this one came out gorgeous. She looks so happy.

Thanks. I posted the other shots in my photos if you'd like to check them out. My daughter is so pretty! She looks a lot like me but I'm stocky whereas she is slender and she has those long, slender, tapered fingers! She got those from CJ. I remember being amazed at how long his fingers were...they were a full knuckle length longer than mine while our palms matched completely!
