Poor service of Insurance Company

India

Friends, my wife had a Health Care policy, under a very popular insurance company in India. The branch office is in my city itself. I regret to tell that this has expired on 7th November 2010. The renewal notice was sent to our home, via a courier service in my city itself but that reached me on the afternoon of 7th November, so it was not possible to renew it. I gave an email to their customer service to know, who is responsible for this, the insurance office or the courier service provider? But I have not received any reply. This certainly is an example of very poor service. For sending letters and parcels I always rely on the SPEED POST SERVICE of our post offices in India. I also use post cards even now. What about you and your place? Professor

Paps. I work in an insurance compnany. It is usual practice that we send the renewal notices 2-3 months prior to renewal. In cases like these, i would suggest that you reply to the "delayed" renewal notice via email. Support your renewal advise via telecon and mail; that way, they wont have a reason to say that they cannot renew it. You can also contact the agent who referred you to the insurer.

I have to be completely honest, since we moved to our house a year and a half ago, I haven't sent anything through the mail because we've had a lot of problems with our mail service. There have been three things that I've mailed out and the haven't had proper handling and have been returned to my house destroyed. So, I will either send something through alternative shipping methods or I won't mail anything at all.

Hi Sir, It would be better to get notified on email or any other electronic way instead of Postal Service. There are many players in Insurance industry and because of that service and other benefits for us shoul dincrease but that is going down. All my Insurance and other premiums are paid online and I get a timely reminder on email, so there is less chance of missig payment or renewal of policy. I would suggest you to go for ECS or Auto debit facility. Thank You and have a great time ahead.

it seems the delay is caused stagnation point and at least a courier for an introduction to various places and could be a buildup of the letters so much that today is the input to the post office but next week the new undeliverable because of the many that must be delivered, you must already understand what I mean
