Yesterday in Britain was Remembrance Day. In Britain November is the time of the year when we wear a red poppy in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for us during wars. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice, on 11th November 1918, to signal the end of World War One. It was the day that finally the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous fighting and an awful lot of young men were killed.11 November is known a Remembrance Day, when we remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other wars. Sadly though this day was marred by a group Muslim extremists who brought shame to the memory of the dead yesterday by breaking the traditional two-minute silence with chants of ‘British soldiers burn in hell’. How dare they!! I think that they should be removed from OUR country quicker than you can say 'burn in hell' What is your opinion? Story is here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1328703/The-boy-brimming-pride-fanatics-burning-hate--faces-Armistice-Day.html#ixzz153KB0xYM "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1328703/The-boy-brimming-pride-fanatics-burning-hate--faces-Armistice-Day.html

I love Britain, in spite of its politics. I'm glad I wasn't there when these ungrateful, traitorous 'tards pulled their crap. I'd have ended up in the poky for my reaction to them. That would go for here in the U.S., as well. Just let some hateful idiots such as these try to show such disrespect! Tasers, anyone? I heard this and felt sick, but then thought about it and I refuse to get angry because that is exactly what they want. They want to upset people. They're cowards, pathetic and stupid. I prefer to look down on such morons as the losers that they are. They can't stem the tide. Everyone is wearing their poppies with pride and that pride shouldn't be dented by a few ignorant thugs who don't even know what they're talking about. We've fought real enemies and come through, not just idiots with big mouths.

You are of course correct, by getting angry we react to these people giving them the very reaction that they want!

I try to not be racist and I have friends of all colors and national origins however, when I hear about something like this not only does it upset me far more than I can express here on a public forum, but it also scares me to no end as well. If a bunch of British citizens and a bunch of us Americans did something so extreme in their country we probably would either be in jail for the rest of our natural lives and tortured or we would be shot on sight. We have similar situations happening in our country and it really makes me mad that they are in this country to begin with. I am not talking about regular Muslims, I am talking about the Muslim extremists and for that matter any extremists. It causes so many problems for other people of the same race or religion that don't cause problems. I am sorry that your two minutes of silence had to be interrupted by such ignorance.

I agree completely with you, I think it is incidents such as these that causes racilaism. As you say the regular Muslims who are just getting on with their lives are as much victims as the British soldiers who this group of monsters ridiculed.

At first I thought, "Oh dear, the Daily Mail" but I chose to read it to be fair to you, the poster. I must admit, I share your disgust my friend. None of them got arrested either! Just led away by the coppers. I would've "led them" to the first plane to Afghanistan, see how long they lasted over there with all the bombs going off.

Yes this wasn't just a typical 'Mail thing' it was news in all the press, the worry now is that it is repeated on Sunday as a lot of British people may jkust be ready for them and then there will be trouble - but which group would be locked up!!!!!!

I had read about this. To a certain extent I am not surprised, as Islam4UK have organised similar stunts. I have also seen that there have been several condemnations from the Muslim community too. Today's radio has been reporting that at least one Muslim priest has attended a Remembrance Day Service in Portsmouth, which is encouraging.

That is reassuring, and I have not heard of any troubles, so fingers crossed!

The buggers! We have that same Remembrance Day silence too where everything shuts down to silence for two minutes (should be made to four minutes - one for each year of the war). I wonder what our police would have done if it happened here? You ought to start a petition on www.thepetitionsite.com & get something in legislation so that the cops can do more.

I am glad you feel so strongly about your day of remembrance. We here in America feel the same. However, our new improved touchy feely "better" world means that hateful groups can do these things to us, but if we did this to them we would be every bad thing in the world. I am with you, that was very disrespectful and hurtful.

I can't imagine how relatives of the soldiers who have lost their lives must feel, so very very disprespectful - whatever your political view.

The normal Muslim, I can live with but the extremists are the ones who mock the normal Muslim religion. They're the ones who need to be shut down completely and I wish all the countries that are involved in this deg gone war with them would blow them all up and get it over with and stop wasting the lives of our men and women of our countries by prolonging the war. Maybe then we can enjoy our lives in a peaceful and harmony way like God intended for ALL of us.

I feel really sorry for the majority of Muslims in this country who must really get it in the neck when extremesitst act in this way.

I understand and am completely sympathetic to your indignity, oldchem. I feel the same every time I hear one word coming out of the mouths of some Chinese-Americans. I don't know how to spell the word (sounds like guh-why-low) but it means "round eye" and is said only in a derrogatory way. It makes me see red when these people come to our country, then put us down for being who we are. I'd love to kick their a$$es right back to China! That is the same type of disrespect, what those Muslims did. It may have also happened in this country, as we celebrated Veteran's Day, which is exactly the same as your Remembrance Day, but I haven't heard anything. I rarely turn on the news because it's always so depressing. Sadly, there will always be groups like this, groups who show no respect to anyone with beliefs different from their own. Of course, they're the first to declare war on anyone doing the same to them, putting them down for their beliefs.

I can just not comprehend how human beings can be so down right cruel and wicked. There were people at that ceremony yesterday who were mourning their sons and husbands killed in the current conflicts and theyn had to see these monsters with such evil placards, disgusting.
