The more you earn, the more you will spend...

Not Enough Money - Many people do not have saving, they tend to spend all the money they have and when they need the money urgently, they start to panic and will start to borrow money

When we earn a little a month, we will probably dare not spend a lot, and we will try to save some money for emergency use. But when we start to earn slightly more, we will start to spend more, and when you earn a lot, you will probably lose control of how you spend your money. That is quite true and that is how a person will spend his/her money. And when suddenly, if we lose our job, we will instantly feel the pain of not enough money which happen to many people when there is recession. Do you feel the same or you have different kind of view?

no no no;. I still spend the same, just save more money as you never know what could happen. I have a budget and keep to it as I have to pay for meds, payt. on ambulance, phone, internet, and diabetic safety foods for low blood sugar then if I have anything left over comes the wants not the needs.

Hi Hatley, I think you really have a good habit since you still saving when you earn more money. Not many people can actually do that but they just spend even more when they earn more money. It is good practice to save money for emergency use.

Hi yspmyl, I think you are right. In my case, if I am running short of money then I will recheck the list of requirements and cut something from the list which is not so important. If I have enough money then I think to get all those things. It means I can manage with less money and if I have more money still there won’t be some money left to save.

You are still not too bad since you still having a check list of your requirement and still able to cut down what is the least important. Many people do not even have record what they want to buy and just spend blindly and at the end they cannot afford to pay off the bank credit.

I have a far different view, although I will say at the out set that this is how it works for the majority of people in our instant gratification world. What I find is that when I have extra money, and I am getting more of my past debts paid for, when that is done, which should be shortly, then I will spend what I need, and invest the rest for later, I would sooner make some sacrifices now, then enjoy life more in a few years, then enjoy live better now, and have nothing down the road. Sincerely and With Appreciation.

That is somehow very rare people have got that kind of thinking like you. I think many people will like to do the same like you but they just can't make it happen. Most of the people will spend as much as possible before they save, and at the end not much money left at the end of the month.

My lesson was learned, not inherently known....There are two types of people in the world, those with month left at the end of the money, and those with money left at the end of the month. If you want to be one or the other I can help... LOL... Sincerely and With Appreciation.

Yes,i agree with you, yspmyl.Your opinion on money is just the same feeling to me.The more you earn from online jobs or full jobs, the more you will spend in daily life.So we should make our best to earn much money every day.

I think the idea is quite common and most of the people are spending their money in that way. Only a few percentage of people will save their money before they spend.

You are really good at segregating your money from where you earn and spend it for different purposes. That is really good idea. I think I will probably to do like what you do. If I have earn not enough from the somewhere to do something I would like to do, then I will hold it until I cumulate enough money. At least in this way, it will not affect my main income. Great idea!

Depends on person , some people get higher living status by getting more money . Some of them keep they current and got extra money . Well money come and goes so you can say the more we have the more we spend . Personaly i hardly find somewhere else to spend money beside bills .

I think most of the people will spend before they save, that is why they do not have extra money for them to spend. When they have more money in hand, they will spend it unconsciously. Unless they stay at somewhere that they are hard to find place to spend.

It tends to be true. When we envy some people who earn more, actually they also spend a lot. They will have more social activities and this cost can be expensive. And since they have a good salary, so they like to buy more things and therefore at the end they won't leave so much. I love China

Hi, it is basically depend on individual's thinking, some people may earn alot of money, thus they do save alot and quite stingy.but some people who earn lot of money, will have a big spending too. My husband's uncle is very good example. He is a big income earner, but then he is very stingy and I do believe he has lot of money. Although he is holding a high post at government department, but he tend not to show off of his status. He is just driving the old car and wear casual. From his look, he does not look like a high post governor servant. But let me tell you,his earning is pretty high every month. So far, I hardly heard that he is going for overseas for holiday.

Hi! That is true that many rich man are stingy, they will treat every single penny as important as their life. I have heard of a news reporting a beggar that having a few million in his bag when he passed away. And no one knowing that he has that much of money. But there are still rich man like Bill Gates that donate a lot of money to the society.

I think it won't matter if you are a responsible spender and saver. You will just be ready for any particular situation that will rise up for you in your life. I find that I am a good saver of money so that when I have made some extra money at a particular time then I won't be likely to spend it all and go into debt. But there are times where you want to reward yourself and spend some moneys on a big ticket item. You just have to be responsible with your money.

I think if you can control your hard earn money and control how you spend, you will probably will not end up with not enough money. Many people nowadays depend on credit to live. They like to use the future money before they have the money, and never realize that the charges will caused them unable to repay the future money.

I do have a different kind of view in this. For me some of what you said is true, when my earnings for the month is not that good, i dare not to spend that much. It is also true that when I had earn a lot, I dare spend a hell lot of money to buy the things I wanna buy. I do not have a family yet, so maybe your point of view is from a guy who has a family. Although sometimes, even if I earned a lot for the past months, I do not spend money for some reason like earning enough money to buy something big, something like that.

At least you still fall into the category that spend more when you earn more, so that statement is correct for most of the people. I think people learn lesson after they experience the pain of not having enough money at the end of the month, and being chasing after to paying rental or bills.

Well said my friend , I agree with you regarding saving for the future. This kind of downturn is very rampant nowadays especially at this point in time of economic recession . So to prepare for the winter in ones life , he or she must consider saving for the future .

Yes, saving is very important, it can really save you when you really need the money. If you do not have any saving and at the time you need the money, you will probably hard to get the money or the amount you need.

yeah, somehow that's the fact of this world. but i cant agree 100%. there's people out there who can handle well their funds. In my opinion, this kind of habitual action is based from your educational background. If we educated well and have a nice nature careness, no doubt that we will handle our money well. if we are being towards extravagant action, my suggestion is we should remember that there many people who can't eat this day. :)

I do agree with you that not 100% of people will follow this rules but it happen regardless of whether a person is educated or not and hey probably will no save money before they spend. That happen to most of the people. They will never realize that if one day they do not have job and what will happen to them.

yeah, I think your words is right, It happen to me. more I earn, more I spend, I think nothing wrong with that. but, you must spend it wisely, buy the stuff that's useful. at least you spend your money, but you happy to have useful things, and dreamed.

Is it true that if you buy something useful, but many people tend to buy something that they never use when they earn more money, and most of the time, things that they buy will only keep inside their closet and may after years then only they realized that they actually own that in their closet.
19 Nov 10
I don't think that at all. I live on a bugget regardless of income so any extra money that we have coming into the house will go away into savings. I have never really been a big spender, I just buy essentials really anyway and I don't often treat myself to a special purchase.

I think you really good in saving since you don't really simply spend. But I believe most of the people will spend as much as possible and only save the balance they have. If there are still balance to keep.

I agree to you. In my points of views, the more we have, the more we want. Similar to this, the more we have, the more we spend. Saving is a good habit. During the emergency cases, we can have enough money to overcome the critical period. When there is a golden opportunity for us to earn more, we can use our saving as a capital to invest. For instance, we can use the money in our saving to invest the properties. For long term, we can not fully depend on our saving to survive. We should have a new income once we lost the existing job.

Yes, no matter how, we need to save some money for emergency use. And if we have enough saving, it is better to use the money to invest in something that can give us better return like properties or share. I do agree with you that we cannot fully depend on our saving to survive but if we have save enough to invest in something that give permanent profit, I think that will be much better than to work with someone. It is better to let the money work for you.
