mY SON & DIL ARE EXPECTING A BABY IN APR. yESTERDAY WE FOUND OUT IT WAS GOING TO BE A GIRL. When i answered the phone my son said mom, u better start learing about little girls. I have 2 sons, one grandson & have always been partial to boys but i'm sure i will learn what to do w/that little girl. One good thing i have always called Ryan my favorite grandson so i want have to change that, lol.I love children & can't wait for it to get here. Ryan wanted a brother but my son said when they told him it was a girl he said, 'oh man' but decided a few minutes later it would be pretty cool to have a little sister & he could beat her boyfriends up. What things little kids can come up with. I am glad he's going to be proteCtive of her. Her dad will be the worse but i have always been that way by my sons & still am. Aren't u???

I only have one son and one daughter. I don't remember being especially overprotective of either. I always felt that our son could take care of himself, and our daughter was a daddy's girl. 'Nuff said about that.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, BON & thanks for responding. U are so blessed to have so many grands. I hope u never let the rest of them know u have a fave. My mother did that w/my boys & i hated that. She was so obvious w/it is what i hated. I know ryan will always have a special plave in my heart because he was the first but i'm going to try real hard not to let it show, lol. Your little grand is a doll.

thanks. and no, i never let them know. in fact i talk even more to peirson and everything because hes older and talks with me some now. my grandma let everyone know and i hated that. it was not fair caused trouble between me and my cousins. i was her favorite for years, then my cousin gale came along and i was ignored from her believe me i know. even now knowing it wasnt her fault and we are old ladies, i still dont get on with her well so knowing the damage it can do, no way will i ever let on.

Aww, a baby girl. How cute that Ryan is already saying he will protect his sister from her boyfriends. Just don't let him go over board with it. I hated that with my brother. I have two girls myself. I wanted a little boy, but I'm very happy with what God gave me. He needs to be prepared though, in the beginning she isn't going to be much fun being around. At least, he doesn't have to worry about her taking his toys and stuff. One good thing about having you around, he can come to you and complain about her. Believe me, he's going to have a lot to complain about, lol. I'm very protective of my girls. Sometimes they hate it, but I'm so paranoid that something could happen to them. They don't understand that I'm just trying to keep them safe and if it means for them not doing something, oh well. I'm not looking forward to my oldest learning to drive next year and eventually moving out to go to college. It scares me, but at the same time I'm very proud of her. I need to prepare myself for that coming day, because I know myself. I'm going to behave 10 times worse than I did on her 1st day of school.

Thanks for responding. They are grown & gone too quick. I'm glad ryan feels that way but know my son will be worse than he will be, lol. All children are a blessing, i wish everybody felt the way we do. I'm anxious for her to get here & see how it works out w/ryan. He's been the only one for over 6 years but they are including him in every phase so that's a good thing. Happy Thanksgivng to u & yours.

If Ryan will be like my brother was, his little sister will not be a happy camper. My brother was very protected over me and my sister. Honestly, he was a lot better at keeping the guys away than my dad did. My girls are 5 and a half years apart in age, and since they are both girls, they don't get along half the time. That is a good thing that they are including him. I can't wait to see pictures of Ryan and his new baby sister.

U were lucky to have a big brother, i always wished i had one. Ryan will probably be like yours was & may be overprotective to. He is coming to spend the day w/me today since school is out. I'm really looking forward to him being here. Have a great day.

Congats on the new baby and also for it being a girl. We were the same way, 7 boys before a girl came along then one more girl and then 3 more boys. I love them all and try to treat them all the same. Children do say the simple things that most won't. lol

Happy Thanksgiving, hope y'all have a great day. Thanks for the kind words. That's alot of boys, lol. I will admit i'm partial to boys but that's because that's what i had & then my first grand was a wonderful little boy. That littlegirl of yours will have a bunch of protectors, bet she will think too many, lol. Thanks for responding.

Congratulations for yet another new grandchild on the way. I have always wanted to have a biological daughter but both my children are boys. I have to be contented with my two adopted daughters. Hopefully my sons can have daughters in future so I'll be happy to take care of my grand-daughter/s. So you're going to be the proudest grandma as the incoming baby girl will make a great pair.

Hello antique Lady and congratulations are in order i believe ? Well have they set her name up yet ? i know they just found out, but they must have some idea.. what would you like her to be called ? It is to be expected that they will be protective with her, i can only imagine, but they must be careful not to over due it - you know what it's forbidden suddenly becomes more interesting.

Well i know it's been a long time, it's because i worked hard the last 9 months, and now i put an end to it - i am back in my 2nd master year, and with having more free time on my hands i am catching up with mylot and taking my friends one by one and see what i missed and answer here and there. After this i will have to make a quick check again, and only then will i be back on track :D i wanted to answer this one of yours faster as it seamed with a more pressing subject, but i will get at the other topics you have soon. I am done with 3 lines of the 1st page of friends list and you are on the 5th line so expect me to "spam" you soon on the other topics as well.

Congrats Jo! A little girl...that's great! I think that Ryan will like that a lot better. It will be easier to share with a little sister than it would be a brother. I learned that from my children. My girls were much more jealous of eash other than of my son.

Oh Jo....a granddaughter!! How nice. Of course you know I have two sons and a daughter, who of course is the baby as well. She is tough one and she can hold her own. Where her brothers and her don't necessarily get along all the time, if you mess with Meghan, you mess with the entire family! Her brothers will kick someone out of the state if someone messes with Miss Meg!! The other day some boy was walking from the bus with Meghan and walked her up to the house, you should have seen her brother grilling this guy...it was so funny. And yes, my husband is the most protective over his little princess! I always wanted a house full of boys, but I am glad that I did have a daughter.

It is lovely to hear that your son and your daughter-in-law are expecting a baby daughter. It will be exciting for you to have a grand daughter. Little girls are such a delight to have. My daughter was born last year and she enchants me every day. My mom has now got seven grandchildren: four boys and three girls. Yes, little kids can come up with some funny things to say.

Hi AL! CONGRATULATIONS! I am kind of partial to little boys too for some reason. I think because little girls are so fussy and whiny!lol But, I know that you and your family must be so thrilled to have a new baby girl on the way! And I love the way the "grandson" was able to "change his mind" so quickly and accept that he will now be a "big brother" with a "little sister"! I think that is so adorable! And maybe, for the best. Now maybe he will be able to not be as jealous and be more protective instead.

Congratulations, Jo! I'm sure you're going to love that little girl as much as you do Ryan! That's so funny about him beating her boyfirends up, lol! That's the way my daddy was with me. He was very protective but he never did beat any of my boyfriends up, lol! He used to say was going to go with me on all of my dates but he never did. In a way, I'm glad my parents were protective of me.
