My stupid fear, do you feel afraid at something you know couldn't exist?

I just felt totally chikensh*t some moments ago for there was some strange sounds outside my window(I was just watching a scary movie), I thought it was an "aswang", funny I know, it couldn't be true but there I was, squirming in my seat and not moving until my brother opened the door and to be honest, I almost screamed! I can't believe I was scared, but my heart is still thumping and I get startled at the smallest sounds...
Does this ever happen to any of you? How did you feel afterwards? Do you feel stupid for being afraid like I did?

Fear of the unknown! And then it grows, your imagination that is. For me, I always go to the most negative, horrible direction it possibly could. Like after seeing the movie 30 Days of Light. OMG! All alone, 3a. in the morning and the most scarey vampires I have ever seen. Sounds become movements in the dark and a dog sounds like a wolf.
