What kind of "mark" or impression do you want to leave on the earth?

Have you thought about it? Is it one of your goals in life?
I was just thinking about it because I've got a birthday coming up........another year older and hopefully wiser! lol. But, it got me thinking....What do I want people to say about me after I'm gone? I HOPE they have good things to say........that I'm kind, have a great sense of humor, care about my fellow man, am giving and selfless. I hope I've contributed in some way. In someone's life. Whether it was an act I did or just by being me.....a smile or kind word I gave. I hope people remember me with fondness and smiles. What about you? Is there anything in particular you want to be remembered for? Any kind of impression you hope lasts after you're gone? Do you think the way you live your life will leave that kind of impression?

Hi veromar!
I have no desire to be popular. My only wish is to provide the best education for my children. The values of a good education, as I believe, should put things into perspective. I would love to see them growing up, to be able to think and work hard and have compassion for others and the environment.

To me, it's really not about being "popular". It's about making a difference to somebody. If I help somebody carrying their groceries or help them find something they've lost.......simple things that most people don't think about but mean the world to that person. Education is key, I agree. Compassion too. I think more compassion. Most people are just so caught up in their own worlds that they don't notice the needs or suffering of others. The environment.....well, we can only have so much control over that. How we utilize our own resources, picking up after ourselves, going "green", whatever.....

It would be a rewarding fact of life to leave an impression behind. I would want to leave behind something that showed my compassion and creativity. They say that children are our legacy. passing your dreams onto them is a way for your mark to be made.@veromar (1453)

Hi Sender. I don't have any children.....yet......but can understand the use of them in that way. Instilling in them certain values or beliefs that could be carried on. Is it the dreams that you want to pass on? Is it things that you never accomplished that you hope they will? What exactly do you hope to pass on THROUGH your children?

All my life, I always want to make difference on the lives of the people I care for and the people who cares for me. For me, the impression I want to leave on the lives of my loved ones is "once in their life, someone genuinely cares for them holistically." :)
