My family will be growing bigger!

My new babies - They don't have names yet.. and I won't technically own them for another few weeks because they are only 3 weeks old in this picture. They were born November 7, 2010.

Very soon we'll be adding 2 new members to our family! Man I love freaking people out! I posted on FB that I'm thinking of names.. and many people are wondering if I'm having another baby.. or two. No.. I'm not! I'm getting kittens!! Two of my cats died this year, and the 3rd we had to give away because my landlord thought he looked sick, though he wasn't. It's been a few months now since I've had a cat.. and I swore back then it would be a long time before I got another pet. But yesterday I was looking at some pictures of cats, and I really missed having a pet. I like cuddling with cats, and petting them, and listening to them purr. I've had cats my entire life.. while growing up we've had up to 6 cats at a time! I've never been without a cat until now.. so you understand why I miss it so much. My friend's cat just had kittens. They're 3 weeks old now. There are 4 kittens, but my friend is keeping 2. She showed me some pictures and videos of the other 2 kittens she's not keeping.. and hubby and I agreed we'd get one. But after watching the videos I felt bad about making one of the kittens be an only cat.. being away from his/her siblings would make it so lonely without another cat in this house. So, we decided we'd take both. I'm going to visit my kittens tomorrow for the first time, but I won't be able to bring them home for a few more weeks. Here's a pic of my new babies... When was the last time your family got a new addition?

Yeah, you got me on facebook. No new additions to the family here lately. The kids want a pet, but I am not too keen on the idea.

Ha Ha.. that was fun.. I was rolling at some of those comments. Just yesterday the idea popped in my head that saying I was preggers again might be a fun April fool's joke.. but it almost seems too cruel.. so this was better, LOL.

Awwww Kittens!!!! They're so cute!! Let us know when you decide what to name them. My husband and I absolutely love cats, and if it were us in your shoes, we'd scoop up the entire litter. Wise decision taking both of them. :) They're so very cute.

It was difficult convincing my hubby to let me take the 2, LOL. No.. 4 is too many for me. I had 5 at one point a few years ago and it wasn't easy. Especially in the summer when we have to worry about keeping the fleas off of them.. because around here we bring the fleas in with us, even if the cats don't go outside they get them. I've decided to name them Twilight and Eclipse.

It's been a long time since there was any addition to my family...well my son had a Great Dane for a while this summer...someone gave it to them. Turns out she was a biter....and in order to not have any law suits she had to be put down...she bit three people in a matter of two weeks...she was beautiful but couldn't be broke of the biting....what a shame.

Very sad.. but for the best I'm sure. Didn't think Great Danes were naturally aggressive.. might have learned it from a previous owner. I think most dogs, even if they have aggression in their bloodlines, learn from their owners.. they can be very friendly or very mean, depending on how you raise them. Indeed a shame!

Thankfully my hubby likes all pets. He wants a dog, but I'm not fond of them.. and of course we do want a bigger place before we get one.

Hi kats! I just got a look at your "new babies" and they are adorable! What are you going to name them? I wouldn't have been able to resist taking them both either! Hope you will keep them as "indoor cats". Can't wait to hear all about them when you take them home. They have a bit longer to stay with "Mommy" though! At least you'll have them by Christmas!

I have just decided that their names will be Twilight and Eclipse. Thought that was fitting, and I am a huge fan of the movies! LOL I haven't officially met them yet. Yesterday while looking at pics of cats and deciding I want one again, it dawned on me that my friend's cat just had kittens, so I asked her to send me pics and she did and also sent videos. I will meet them officially tomorrow.. but I already know I'll love them!

So is your dog spoiled as if she were a child? All the people I know who have dogs but not kids treat their dogs as if they are kids.. not that there's anything wrong with that at all.. I'd much rather the pet be treated too well than not well enough!

I have three cats, and it has been awhile since we have had a new one. The two boys have both had dental issues and have had a lot of teeth pulled. I keep thinking the old guy will not make it one more season, but I have said that for three years. Meanwhile the two with dental issues both drool. All the chairs are covered to protect the covering. I am old enough that as they die off, I will not replace them. We like to take trips too often and it is just not fair to leave the kitties with someone else.

That's exciting! Sherlock is almost five years old, so it has been almost five years since I've had a new addition to my family. : ) If I had a yard I'd add even more. But I don't think it is fair for the dog for me to have more than one in my apartment. Dogs need more space, and my place is perfect for Sherlock, but Sherlock only.

Those two would be a cute addition! We haven't gotten a new kitten since my 3yo was a baby. I too would like another cat but dh says 3 is plenty... I told him though if something ever happens to the dog that I want another cat!

I was fine with the 3 cats and did not want another kitten. But not having a cat is sad. While visiting my new babies today.. they were put away to sleep and the momma cat came out to socialize and I was petting her and she was purring and just that made me sad.. it's been months since I've heard a cat purr.. I can't wait to be able to bring my babies home!

I'd be lying if I said the first thought I had when I saw that wasn't 'oh my, another set of TWINS?!', lol. But kitties were my second guess. I can't blame you for wanting kittens, they are rather addictive. I always think that after our cats are gone maybe we wont get more, maybe buy some leather furniture and enjoy living in a hair free house. But I know that probably wont happen. They are such a big part of life and I imagine that they would be hard to live without. PS I did NOT end up getting a puppy, lol!

My husband wants a puppy so bad, and everytime we walk through a pet shop and he sees a baby Husky or Malamute he almost gets it (regardless of the fact that they're like $700). He knows we don't have the space.. and I've told him that once we have a house with a yard he can get one.. I'm not looking forward to that day.

My friend is also really pleased that I'm taking them.. if given to a stranger she'd worry, but with me she won't worry and she can visit them whenever she wants.

The love for animals is sometimes extraordinary, i can relate with you when you say your family is growing-true, pets once in a home become just part of the family-you feed them them and even love them, so you are right here friend, they are your new family members!

Now puppies are one month old and starts to walk faster and run sometimes and also barks. My kids took each puppies to their rooms and that made the mother dog cries searching for her babies. We never missed having pets around,my husband loves fishes and bought new things for his aquarium too. Your little kitten looks very cute and cuddly

Our family had our most recent new addition in October when we brought Peaches into our family. That was the day that our first cat, Cornbread unexpectedly passed away and we went to the humane society to just see the kittens that they had because we knew that we didn't want Buttercup to be alone for too long. Well, we all fell in love with Peaches and she came home with us that very day. She really has been a pleasure to have as a member of our family.

It's been a real long time since I had a pet cat. Looking at your adorable 'babies' makes me miss him so much. I don't think I can have one now with my busy schedule. You are lucky!
