I was poking around the Dollar Tree and noticed they had a version of Shower to Shower body powder. I was wondering how much different this is than using baby powder w/ cornstarch? Any thoughts? prefrence?

3SnuggleBunnies I think the only difference is the nice odor of Shower to Shower versus Baby powder with corn starch. I love the odor of Shower to Shower but can never find it. My adult son is horribly allergic to Mennens baby powder, If I use it and he comes to visit he gets all choked up and hard to breath so I have changed to Shower to Shower as it does not bother him. In fact when he was a baby I used to wheeze whenever I dusted him with baby powder. I think I am allergic to something they put in the stuff.

Talcum is very irritating to the lungs. I do not think Shower to Shower has talc in it, but it does have other good stuff.

To me the only difference is the smell. I prefer the smell of outright baby powder compared with any of the other brands and that is just me. Unless there is a lavendar smell to it, then I'll get any brand. I don't use baby powder that much, I'll use baby oil myself.

it depends on why you are using powder. i like to put it on to smell fresh after a shower. some people use powder to feel and stay dry. and then they both smell so different. so you need to see which one works best for you! i would just go for the baby powder. that's just what i would prefer to use

Most body powders are just some form of corn starch with scent. Some feel really smooth because of stuff they add but I really don't think there's much difference besides how they smell or how much they cost! I don't know why people want to use powder anyway.

I use Shower to Shower all the time...can you tell I shop Dollar Tree stores?? Anyways, I have never had a problem with it and I really like the way Shower to Shower smells instead of regular baby powder. I switched from regular baby powder years ago when I found Shower to Shower. I never saw a difference when I did change other than one smells a lot better. But if you are thinking about using it on a baby, I can't give you any advise. My kids are all older so they are past the "sensative baby skin" stage.

I believe that the ingredients are quite the same in Shower to Shower than they are in regular baby powder. I really like the scent of Shower to Shower, but it is something that I have a hard time finding around here. I think that when I've been able to have the opportunity to use Shower to Shower that I tend to stay a lot more dry than I do when I am using baby powder. However, to truly know the difference in ingredients, you would have to look at the ingredients side to side.

I think the ingredients in Shower to Shower include baking soda, or at least they used to. It is better at absorbing odors. Hubby uses medicated powders or powders like Shower to Shower rather than an antiperspirant as it keeps odors down well.

well, I'm allergic to corn starch, so I would never even consider using a powder with it in it!

im not sure. i very seldom need powder. its so dry here in the desert, i go more for moisturizers in everything and its still never enough but if i lived where theres lots of moisture like when i was in florida, id say baby powder is always best. and id never use anything else on a baby either. so all in all if you must id stick with the baby powder. it always smells great any way.
