Nauru is the world's smallest island nation. 8.1 square miles! It used to be known as Pleasant Island. It is in Micronesia in the South Pacific. It was once a German colony and later administered by Australia/New Zealand/UK. The Japanese occupied the island during WW2. This island is a phosphate rock island and phosphate was it's major export until the 1980's.
Have you heard about this country? Have you visited/ live(d) here?

hi lore oddly my son pointed this island out to me so thats why it
sounded familar. I do not really know anything about it except its in Micronesia in the South Pacific. I did know about the Japanese taking it over during WW2. I wonder why they stopped
exporting phosphates? Maybe they were running out? I wonder if this is a tropical climate there. Interesting for beng the worlds smallest island nation. I like the name Pleasant Island.

The current Liberal Opposition wanted to set up an off-shore asylum seeker processing centre here recently & was approved to do so to end people smuggling. How did you hear about it?
