We`re leaving 2010 soon, how time flies so fast and how we are getting older!!!for the first decade of 2000, of course, we have some memories about what happened in soccer world, the best and unforgettable moment and so on. Who do you think the most influential soccer figures in the decade? From strikers to GK. then the managers, clubs?for manager, I will pick Jose Mourinho for the moment with Porto, Chelsea and Inter ( maybe with madrid, we`ll see), national team:Spain that proves unity in diversity, GK:Gigi Buffon, Clubs: MU for its consistency, player( national team level):Xavi, player( club level): Messi, Striker:Drogba, Midfield:Xavi and Gerrard, defender: Rio Ferdinand and Puyol ( in my opinion). Maybe you can share your choices?please share..

The most influential manager of course: Jose Mourinho. But, I give my respect to Sir Alex for his lifetime achievement. Actually, there are so many players that are brilliant. I just can name a few players only, such as: Playmaker: Xavi Hernandez. For me, he is the best passer in the world. Another player I like: Wesley Sneijder for his role for Holland in the WC 2010. For goalkeepers: Buffon, Cassilas, and Van der Sar. Strikers: Messi, Van Nistelrooy, Inzaghi, Torres There are too many players to be named in the last ten years....

I have to say that this is very difficult to make, because we cannot follow all important competitions and we are very subjective when choosing our favorites. Because I follow mostly the Bundesliga and because I am a Bayern fan I may be choosing more figures which have something to do with German football. I will start with the most influential manager and I will separate the manager from coach, because as far as I know this is common only in the UK, for the manager and the coach to be the same person. Therefore, I will take the managers from the UK in the coach category. Manager: Uli Hoeness(manager of Bayer for 30 years): has made from Bayern the healthiest club in the world which regards finances. Bayern has no debts and all taxes are paid. I know that this may be strange to you, but I know that the other great teams are full of debt. Coach: Jose Mourinho( despite the fact that I hate him.) Goalkeepers: Oliver Kahn, Iker Casillas, Petr Cech Defenders: Nemanja Vidic, Fabio Cannavaro, Lucio Midfielders: Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane and Schweinsteiger Wingers: Messi Striker: Raul, Inzaghi and Eto'o Greatest stadiums built in this period: Allianz Arena, AufSchalke and Donbass Arena(Donetsk) Biggest surprises: Greece(Euro 2004), Porto(Champions League 2004) and Zenit(Uefa Cup 2008) Best national teams: Germany( playing 2 finals in WC 2002 and Euro 2008), two semifinals(WC 2006 and WC 2010), Spain( Euro Champs 2008, WC Champs 2010) Italy and Brazil Best player: Xavi Most entertaining player: Ronaldinho Greatest downfall: Leeds United

Yes, time does fly my friend, I am a Liverpool fan :) and i must say that Steven Gerrad is a magnificant player and is often unfortunatly underated I feel.He is the "living heart beat" of Liverpool and in our squad , only he and Torres have the power to change games. Although im a strong liverpool fan, I must admit Lional Messi is the best player in the world for me. He is in a diffrent rank/class. No words to describe him :). I must agree with your manager choice, Jose Mourinho is amzing...The special one.. he did it in porto, and he did it agian with Inter Milan...can he do it with Real Madrid..well..we will have to see and only time will tell :)
