Honestly, I am a little bit scare if I have to go a long distance from a place I am unfamiliar with. But with situation which I have to go, I may just travel alone for the sake of money. Usually, I travel with friends, or family members, this weekend I suppose to go with a friend to out of state, but he might or might not be able to go. Because he has to work on Saturday, and I don't want to jeopardize his job. So, I might have to go alone myself. So, are you afraid to travel alone yourself?

I haven't had too many opportunities to travel on my own, but I've never really been bothered by doing so when I have.

I have to say, its been a long time since I was a young woman, now I'm a fat older woman who I've been told by men that I "scare" them Can't imagine why, maybe because I'm not afraid of them? Actually, I am afraid of them, but nothing is a better defense than a good offense and I can be pretty offensive when I put my mind to it...

Now I usually travel with my husband or with some friends, but in the past I often travelled alone. I prefer to travel with other people, but I am not afraid of travelling alone. If I have to choose between travelling alone and not travelling at all (because my friends are busy with other things or can't afford the trip) I would choose to travel alone. I have travelled alone in Estonia, Italy, Scotland, Poland and Hungary. In Estonia I travelled around for two weeks on my own, it was very interesting to visit different parts of the country, but it was also a little lonely sometimes.

Since I became a widow I usually travel alone. It is not easy to find a companion for a trip as they have to meet certain standards and have the time and money to travel when I do. I have gone to many places and have never had any problem. People are usually nice and helpfull everywhere and I have never been scared.

I've never travelled alone and frankly I don't like the idea of it because I think I would get very lonely. I would like to be in the company of someone when I'm travelling so that I have someone to share all the new experiences with. I don't think I'd be afraid of travelling alone though.

I am not afraid to travel alone. In fact, sometimes I prefer to travel alone. There are places which I want to explore like those off the beaten track kind of places. These places does not appeal to some of my friends. So I rather travel alone than to hear their rants while traveling. And besides, it is a good opportunity to make new friends.

There is nothing to be scared of actually. I had my first experience of traveling alone to Australia last May. It was a 9 hours flight and to tell you honestly I was scared but pretend to be brave. I ask and read signboards and luckily I managed to land in Australia safe and sound. That first experience traveling alone has given me courage and trust in myself that I am capable of traveling alone anytime anywhere.

I used to travel on my own in my younger days. My first trip that I did on my own was around Europe by train when I was 18 years old. Then I went to Tunisia alone when I was 19 years old. I did most of my world trip alone when I was 20 years old. in my mid twenties I traveled on my own to Israel and Jordan. At age 29 years old I traveled to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands on my own. My last trip that I did on my own was when I was 33 years old and I traveled to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. Since then I have traveled with my disabled son and last year my baby daughter joined us. Last year I took my disabled toddler son to Cape Town and the Garden Route in South Africa. I was 18 weeks pregnant with my daughter on that lovely trip. I love traveling to different countries and by reading travel guide books I learn more about where I am traveling to.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I am afraid of traveling alone. It's true that I am a woman, with a small frame, but I'm always careful when I go out, whether it's when I'm traveling or not.

What a question. I know I'm not getting any younger but would you believe that I could not travel alone? I could not imagine myself being a total stranger in a distant place. I don't know but probably I got used to be with and stay with my family in my entire life. But of course, I do want to experience and learned to be alone for this attitude hinders me to enjoy and explore. Hoping I can cope up with this fear soon.

I'm never afraid to travel alone. In fact it excites me if I'm gonna travel by myself. Although nowadays I don't get to travel alone since I have to bring along my family where ever I go, but if given a chance, I would still prefer to travel alone.

I think if I have to travel alone, I can do it. But it is better if someone go with me. If it's a long distance from my hometown, I think i should go with a member in my family, or a friend. And It's so cool if I travel with my girlfriend!

depends on the person, of course. i love travelling on my own cause i love being alone. don't be afraid to do it, we all face fears at some point, or changes. is natural that you won't feel comfortable cause you were used to not be alone, but things change and we should always adapt

I used to like going alone to different places even when far. I like it that way, for me its faster, easier, less hassle, nothing to think about except your self. *Sigh*.. those were the days.. I was younger then. Now, I am 37 and I seek to have at a companion when going to different places especially if its far and I have to stay away from home for some days. It's like I gained a fear going away from home alone and in my mind now.. it's like to have a companion, someone to talk with, you won't be alone when you are lost since both of you will be seeking directions. And if anything happens the other could ask for help. There are some times though that I long for journeys alone.

I'm not afraid to travel alone and i like to travel alone in peace. i have traveled along with my friends to different places, where they put different conditions and play and make a quite full of noises. I like to travel alone, it makes us to enjoy the trip and enjoy the peace within us and we could also do anything we wish to like whether to read a book or listen to music and even watch the movie which is being displayed !!!

I am not afraid to travel alone, but i prefer not to. It is lonely to travel by yourself. having a companion can make the journey so much more.

i'm not scared but i prefer to have at least a companion(s) for long distance journeys. having someone to talk to and spend the duration of the journey is really good. i'm not good at making friends and talking to strangers which is one reason. also it makes good sense that if anything happens then it's better to have someone beside u than facing it alone. but if i do have to travel alone i choose air travel. when i was still studying, me and my friends used to travel together and travelling by road or rail was fun. but now that i have to travel mostly alone i choose air travel. that way it's much faster and don't have to spend long periods on the road or train all by myself. like i said, i'm not really good at making friends or interacting with strangers.
