I don't know much about Elizabeth Edwards but I was touched by her last words she left to people before she passed.
"You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And, yes, there are certainly times when we aren't able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It's called being human.
But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isn't possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know."

Very inspiring woman indeed. I can only hope to know what it is like to have even part of the strength and tolerence she had. She was very dedicated to her family and was a wonderful example for many people. She was a person that could be looked up to but at the same time she was not "above" anyone and was not afraid to let people know that. She let everyone see that life wasn't perfect but you couold still get by and have a great attitude doing it.

Elizabeth was a wonderful woman and one to be much admired. It doesn't matter if you agree with her belief or not, she lived her life according to those beliefs and gave her children and the rest of us a wonderful lesson to live by.

Lore-
She was definitely a strong woman. Not only did she have to deal with her husband's extramarital affair but also deal with her cancer. I am a cancer survivor and it's always a difficult thing even if you don't put that out there for the public, and yet I can say there is peace in it as well. You simply continue on because this is part of the journey. I think what she shared with the world is how to handle life with grace.

Yes, I heard about her during those times with the senator and her cancer, but read more about her today. She even gave birth in her later years... I felt her strength. I am glad that you picked a lot up from your struggles and can feel your strength as well. Thanks for sharing.
