I read some complains from some of us lotters about posting question like how what etc.in MyLot forums. Some are not happy at the topics or questions asked. Some tell stories for a few line but at the end ended with question too to get responses. Forums are not a place to posts questions? Is forums for someone to talk to themselves and post it so others can read and give comments? What does to discuss everything under the sun means compared to to discuss subject that suits individual personalities that is under the sun!

I feel any type of questions can be posted in this type of forums. Forums can be any type, any thing under the sun can be discussed in this forum. If you are expecting a result, such a forum is very useful. So we can post whatever individuals feel.

Mylot is a discussion based forum. Where a subject is chosen and then comments are made from other members. There are guidelines to follow to keep this from turning into an add campaign in every discussion. I like that. I have learned alot here in mylot and helped in some ways with my responses. Every forum has its rules and guidelines these are necessary to keep the flow of good content.

Most of the complaints about questions here are those that simply ask a question and nothing else. such as,"What's your favorite color"?or "Do you like ice cream"? These things are not considered discussions as they can only be answered with a yes or no response. Asking questions is fine as long as it's followed by an interesting occurance, event, and providing a meaningful explanation, such as How long have you been a member here at Mylot?, followed by "and how much to you like it here."? Asking questions this way, engages the reader of your discussion and can provide many ways to answer this question.Discussing "everything under the sun" means you can discuss "any" topic you choose, as long as it can be considered a discussion.

The complaints that you are referring to are to those started discussions which actually are not discussions but mere one liner questions. Those are not discussions at all because it does not include an event or happening that could be discussed among us, but just a mere question to earn money here. Questions are okay as long as it is followed by a discussion of a topic that is of interests to others or a narration of facts related to the question. In my case I just try to avoid just mere questions especially if it's a yes or no question.

Leaving a question/s encourages the members to react and participate on the discussion you post. It is way to attract respondents although some in which I may agree are just citing a short descriptions or worst one liner question. If you want to avoid these things then don't respond at all to those few-line-discussions whom you consider for in the purpose of getting responses.

I think that the guidelines are pretty plain about what we can bring up as topics and what we can't. Has to be in our language and not be like asking what color you like and so forth. Pretty cut and dry. I think anything that is of interest to us is a valid topic as long as it goes by the guidelines. And the topics won't always suit each and every one of us. If it doesn't just move on to one that does.

I think the complains you read were about discussions with poll type questions, who are not allowed here, in myLot. It's a little difficult to tell which question is a poll type question and which is not. Of course most of the discussions here have questions in their title or, at least, in their description. But how else to start a discussion without a starting point?
