I would like to know what attracted you to the harry potter series or to any of the harry potter characters. I quite curious because the series itself (books, cast, the author, movies and merchandise) have a big following all over the world. every news of Harry Potter becomes a news story all over the world. I became attracted to Harry Potter because of the spells that they are casting. That i also want to study to the Hogwarts school of wizardry. It may help me a lot in cleaning in our house. Haha Im sure it will make me very lazy.

Well, at least it's good reading or if you're like me watching. I love fantasy or SiFi.

I do not find the characters themselves very appealing, i kind of dislike the character of Harry Potter but rather I find the whole premise of the story to be entertaining. The magic and everything.

Harry Potter books and movies are appealing because they seem to take you to places you have secretly always wanted to go...even as adults...magical places. Would be nice wouldn't it to go to school at Hogwarts? Or be able to wave a wand and spread food all across your table. JK Rowling in my mind is one of the greatest children's fiction writers of all time. She is my new hero.

I was against Harry Potter in the beginning. I figured if everyone loved it, it's probably cheesy and not worth my time. Then I got mono and the only thing to read in the house were my sister's harry potter books. I actually read the Goblet of Fire first. I fell in love with the story, the adventures, and the characters. I often thought about magic a lot as a child so this was like the story in my head on paper. After that I read all the books. Ron is my favorite (we both hate spiders). They couldn't have picked a better person than Rupert Grint to play his part. I have also gained some respect for J K Rowling. She spent years materializing this story and each character has its own story even though we don't get to read about some of them in the books. It's fascinating how she seemed to create real people instead of characters being thrown into a story.

What attracted me to follow the Harry Potter series is the rarity of the story itself because where will you find witches and wizards fighting for the common good of all the people and where will you find a teenage wizard who is task to defeat a very powerful and evil wizard. It all comes down to how the story is presented the cast, the places and all the elements in the story is really superb it makes me wanna become a wizard to in order to protect myself and my loved ones against the evil forces. Hahaha I'm just so hooked to that series that is why I am imagining pretty weird things well good day to you.

I am not sure either, I was just a bit younger than harry potter when I saw the first movie- and I loved it. I can also relate to some of the characters. It's also fun to watch them grow with me and their adventures too.

Well, when I first read the first book it was 1998 and I was only about 5/6 and I LOVED the creativity, the storyline and the gripping characters and plot of the story. As I grew up I began to appriciate the langauage and the continuation of the seris. Deathly Hallows is one of the best books I have ever read - and I am speaking as an English Literature student. JK Rowling can keep you gripped with only the 3 main characters - add in all the stories elements it was amazing. There were so many twists anf cliffhangers that we didnt see and the beauty is it doesnt appeal to just one age group. It's genius and completly original. If you try to compare it to the like of Twilight - it destroys it. Those kinds of 'popular literature' obly strengthen Harry Potters case and prove that JK Rowling created a banwagon for other to jump on.
