How about dancing cats among the rules, would people then read them?

As so many of us have seen, a lot of newcomers and some older comers do not read the rules until they have had a few discussions deleted. the most common reason most give is they are boring. b o r i n g. so I have a great idea. most everyone has seen the videos of cats that appear to be dancing. okay let my lot admins introduce a lot of cute d ancing cats among the words of the rules so that it catches the attention of the reader and he is entertained at the same time he learns the rules of how to make discussions that will not be deleted. I mean most everyone likes cats and dancing cats always takes people's fancy so is it a winner, your take I am writing this with tongue in check so do not take it too seriously feel the need to laugh a bit on a cloudy dismal day.

I read the rules, but was more intrigued with the dancing cats, so I just kept watching them instead of reading.

Oh what a great idea Hatley..Maybe the admin will contact you and give you a job to do just that..:D As for laughing it off, I am not. I know that videos can teach more than to read something, at least for myself it is. Plus add the dancing cats, how can one not l earn from it?

Hey, as good as my son was in tutoring me in math, I admit I went to youtube and learned quite a bit on there. Yep, just put in what kind of math problem you are struggling with in the search bar, and there are videos where they teach you step by step, how to work out some problems.. So yeah, it can work, just need someone to make it happen..:)

Hi sweetie. That seems like a great idea. I am sure that will help getting thru that faq's and rule thingies. Maybe we should add a zapper. When your mind wonders the cat can zap you to pay attention again. TATA.

yes i think it is a splendid idea. i think they should apply dancing cats and dogs to textbooks too so that my son can stay awake while studying.. no no i think this is serious business. When he complains that he could not sleep, mt advice is to read his textbook!

Hi there Hatley, I think it's a great idea. Heck, I'd check in from time to time just to see the cats. Hopefully they would entice them in and they'd read the rules as well as watch the cats. Anyway, it is a good idea. Dancing cats holding up and wearing signs that tell all the different rules....that'd hold their attention. I vote YES!

Hello Hatley dear. I think we have to be reasonable about this ! The mylot admins should offer more choices in the sense that the user be able to select between dancing kitties, or puppies or bunnies - different small cute furry animals for different people tastes A good idea would be to remunerate the reading of the rules, maybe as a mylot alert worth of 1 cent or something. Cheers and hugs, Alex.

alottodo but even commonsense cannot always figure out mylot admins rules so go read them and if my silliness here will just'get people to see its easy to read the rules and know just what the hell' you are doing, why not read them what is wrong with knowing what mylot likes and does not like, once you get a few deleted you may then see' what I am saying.

hi quita yes thats the problem if they are not tempted to find ou t why the cats are dancing but too we ha ve decided to borrow some real live mylotters cats and teach them to sing the rules, heck they do things like that in videso and newbies flock to those, lol lol

That is a cute idea. Here is another one that could be kind of successful I think. How about we get someone to read it all outloud and record it. Then they could contact the people from autotune the news and get them to make it into some kind of a catchy song that would get stuck in people's heads so that they wouldn't be able to get it out of their mind and there would be no way that they would be able to forget the rules.

hi eshaan yes you have been here l onger than me, of course life handed us a sucker punch so I wasout for 11 long dreadful months and I too have had no discussions deleted. However as I have this weird photographic memory I can visu alize the rules and the info and only check once in awhile if anything new is added.I am one who goes to the sou rce rather than depend on others as I have found so many mylotters get the info all wrong then tell others until a whole bunch of people are under the wrong impressions, for a long time a lot of people were almost killing themselves writing outrageous amounts of discussion under the wrong ifea that if they got a ton of responses they would be rich, wrong nobody gets paid for responses on their own discussions, we who made the responses get the pay you do get paid if you comment back on our responses though and well I found.

hi ifa sometimes I think the idea that it is written in English'only is a bad idea and that they should repeat it in several languages too. but may I suggest if you have E nglish as a second languge get some english speaking friend to help you better understand the rules.

What do you think of this: what if the dancing cats would sing a song with lyrics containing the myLot rules? Yet, it is not sure that they would learn the lyrics. In my country there are lot of jokes about policemen. One of them says that policemen were to learn some math. Someone came with the idea to create some lyrics with the rules, and to put them on music. Every policeman should learn the new song, so that eventually they will know the math rules. After a few days, all of them knew the song, but they all sang it with na na na na na na. Nobody knew the lyrics.

It is a very funny and Original Idea, but the problem is people will always "like" to learn in the bad way, and until you don't get punished you will not learn. It start when a kid "try" his parents and mommy said wait until daddy come.. and it continue to school when teacher ask to be quite and you start writing until she kick you off the class. And it continue to driving when you speeding to see if police officer will catch you or not, We are all a risky little kids :)
