So, I've been listening to Christmas songs for the past few days, to remind me it's the end of the year. I don't really celebrate Christmas much anymore, but I still do enjoy the songs. Which are your favorite Christmas songs?

The three songs I love are Please Come home for Christmas by The Eagles, merry Christmas Darling by the Carpenters and the Christmas song by Nat King Cole. As for carols, My favorites are Silent Night And O Holy Night. It is strange and ironic when I sing O Holy Night these days. I learned it Before I became Jewish, lol! But it has a beautiful melody and I learned it in French so it is like brushing up on my french these days.

The only time that I get to hear Christmas music is when I'm at work. On some nights we'd have choir people from various places coming to sing Christmas carols so that's always enjoyable. I've been hearing "Silver Bells" at work a lot so it's been in my head. I actually don't have a particular favorite, I enjoy listening to pretty much any Christmas song.

Me too. Too bad, nobody really does caroling in our area. But once I saw a big group of people walking with candles... but they never got to our place.

That's too bad for you. A lot of the choirs that have performed in the mall were really good. I actually had this one Christmas song sung by the previous group that showed up stuck in my head for days.

Walking in a winter wonderland and silent night...these are two of my very favorite holiday songs. And who could forget the Bing Cosby sings...White Christmas? I also think that the 12 days of Christmas is a very cute song :)

I like the song "It's December" by Audrey Hannah very much, although it's not really a typical christmas song. I'm hearing it right now... I always celebrate christmas with my family, and there we sing some traditional christmas songs in German or in English like "Silent night, holy night" or typical Austrian Christmas songs like "es wird scho glei dumba".

Every year, there's a station on the radio that plays Christmas music 24/7 from around Thanksgiving to Christmas and I listen to it all the time. "Sleigh Ride" and "Carol of the Bells" have to be one of my favorite songs. Usually, I like to listen to instrumental Christmas songs. For example, I really like the instrumental version of "Carol of the bells" by David Foster.

First a little history. Jingle Bells was originally written for a children's Thanksgiving program. The audience loved it so much they requested a repeat for the Christmas program. And the rest is history I would say my favorite is a choral work I hear on occasion, that I don't hear that often anymore. It sounds like bells done by the choir, and the last line of the refrain is "Christmas is here." O Holy Night also a favorite, especially when done by a boys choir.

I have just brought a Christmas cd to play in the car it has a mixture of the more traditional songs and some more up to date songs as well. My favourite song has to be fairytale of New York By Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues I have yet to come across anyone who does not like this song.

On top of the list of Christmas songs I like is 'Silent Night'. Not many know the origin of the song 'Silent Night". On the Christmas Eve itself in the year 1818 Father Mohr's church organ broke down. This happened in a small town in Austria. As it is in every Church Father Mohr's Church too had expected to celebrate Christmas singing song with accompaniment of Music. To bring to his congregation the beauty of Child Christ's birth he wrote a simple tune to accompany the words. This is how the song 'Silent Night' came into being. The song eventually became an internationally favorite song. The songs create in the minds of listeners a mixed feeling of warmth, wonder and contentment.
