Addicted to meat? Have you heard about that?

Hello friends, my boyfriend is kind of addicted to meat. He can eat it every day, every hour, all the time when we have meat at home. Yesterday i made potatoes soup and he cut salami in it, after that he eat all of that together. I would never make the taste of the soup bad, if it's already prepared, using bought salami, but he did it, because he doesn't like foods without meat. So i'm asking myself now, is it so hard for some of you to stop eating meat for a while? I like the taste of the meat rare, only if it's clear meat, without any fat parts on it. But if i have to be honest, it's not my favorite taste at all. I prefer vegetables like pepper, tomatoes, cucumbers and so on or cheese and milk products, instead of meat. Or green beans, which my boyfriend doesn't eat for some reason ... I found the answer why i'm not a meat lover in one book for the blood types, where they wrote that people which my type of blood doesn't eat so much meat, they prefer natural foods more. So now let's get back to the question - meat addicted?

No, not at all. I am vegetarian. I used to eat meat but the taste I didn't like so as I grew up, I started preferring vegetables than not veg food (including eggs). Actually, I don't like spicy food. It's been 10 years since I've not eat any non-veg food and I am sure I will not eat any non veg food in future. At the same time, if you see the use of medicines in eggs and the diseases in animals and birds, it is better if we stay away from meat. Happy myLotting!!!

Good for you that you don't eat meat. I eat it very rare, but i admire really much people, who doesn't eat it. And i'm kind of sure that they live more healthy, even if i know that meat has some important things for our health in it. I know what people do with animals, friends and i'm really cared about that. Cruelty is everywhere and sometimes i can't sleep because of that problem, but still i have nothing to do. One thing i can do is to not use products, which are tested on animals before offering to people.

There was a time where I felt I was addicted to meat too! After we've had dinner at home, I would make excuses to go out and do some errands. And then I would drive to a nearby Wendy's and get a Baconator! Luckily, that phase has passed. And I feel disgusted about myself when I remember it. Nowadays, I would eat meat if it were there, but I'm not so hung up about it.

I think that way must be. And specially with the meat products which you can buy in our country - not a lot of the sausages and salami got real meat inside. Most of them use fats and put really little meat in the meat products. That's why i buy pork mince if we can afford it, pork meat without fatness and something parts of chicken. But i believe two times a week is good and healthy. Not too much, not too less.

I have not heard of meat addiction before but I know of a friends who must have meat for every meal. If there is no meat available, he rather not eat than to have something that is all vegetable.

I called it addiction by myself, because i'm trying to call is somehow friend. It's not real addiction, it's just a way for me to call something i don't know how else to call. My boyfriend is the same, he is eating vegetables only cooked in some interesting way, as example potatoes balls, potatoes baked with melt cheese or like that.

I have seen one of my friend eating meat three times a day. He has become so fat...o god!! I like meat very much but I control my habit. I only like chicken so within a week 5 times merely i have it because over wating can harm my body. some months back I was suffering from anemia. That time doctor suggested me to eat red meat. but I dont like that. Not about the taste, I dont like to see the prepared dish itself. So I go for only chicken. all types of chicken preparation I like. But I will say that over eating of meat is really bad for body.

I don't know if the red meat is making people fat, but for sure i know it's not so healthy if it's not mixed with vegetables or more daily fruits. Because fresh vegetables are really expensive here and we can't afford buying them, i think that only meat it not healthy at all. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I don't think that blood type can have anything to do with liking meat or not It's the first time I hear of a person addicted to meat, but there are so many different kinds of addictions that this can be possible too. In my case, I like meat, but I don't need to eat meat all the time, as I prefer to have a balanced diet instead of eating the same all the time. If I always eat the same I end up tired of that taste, so I don't think I can ever get addicted to meat, veggies, fruit, etc.

Good for you friend, that you change the foods all the time. It's healthy. I called it meat addiction because i just don't understand how only the "meat" is quality food for my boyfriend If we have to talk about blood types, i can say that i ask everyone about that, because i'm interested to know if the blood type has some effect. And for now, what i know for the blood types and eating is correct, as i read it

Once upon a time, oh about 10 yrs ago, I became a vegetarian. Hubby and I took some cooking classes on how to cook and I loved it. It was delicious. Then after a month, I was having serious problems (I'll spare you the details) but our mentor said that it was normal, my body was in spring cleaning. Well it did spring, summer, fall and winter and still I couldnt eat the food that I loved without having problems. One day, we went to a party in a restaurant and because we were over 50 people, we all had the same thing......chicken kebab. I thought, what the hell, I'll eat it. Guess what, I wasnt sick that evening. Happens that if I dont have a serving of meat or protein on every meal, I get sick. So, I stopped fighting it and now I have meat 3 times a day. Ive never felt better. I tried to cook a few dishes that I loved when I was a vegetarian and ......got sick right away. Maybe its the same with him......he feels sick if he doesnt eat meat?

Hello Magical, he doesn't feel sick, just since he was little child, his parents had restaurants all the time. And he could eat what he wants, usually it was something made of meat. So he had that habit since little child. I don't mind what he eats, i gave the example with that soup, because it was like crazy situation, when he eat meat 3 days in a row with meat before the soup and when i made soup, he put salami in it (on the 4th day) like he hasn't eat meat for long before the soup You know about his problems with the kidneys. I read that pork and other "red and heavy" meats are not good for him. Also he has weight to loose and it would be good for him and healthy (i strongly believe in that) if he tries for some time to eat only clean meat (not meatballs bought from the store, not sausages, not salami) and if it's possible to be chicken, it would be amazing. He is blood type 0, so that blood type loves meat and i don't blame him. Just it's bit annoying when he acts like everything, which is without meat, won't be tasty. When my mom gave me jars with different vegetables, like baked pepper, tomatoes juice, green beans and i was so calm that we will have jars with some kind of food in this hard winter, he told me ... "Mmmm ... it won't be the food i love, but it's still good". Actually he saw very good how good is for us to have something for eating at home, there is no need it to be meat, to be food.

Well, I've never actually heard the term "meat addiction" nor do I know people who eat it at every meal, however, I do know people who scorn vegetarians and eat a lot of meat. My father-in-law eats enough meat in one meal for three or people, same as fish, and he gives strict orders to my mother-in-law not to share his meat to anyone, although he grudgingly allows turkey dinners with her brother. I'm mainly a veggie-lover, and I used to be vegetarian but had to give that up when I married my husband, he doesn't like the fact that he's having meat and I'm not having any except for the veggies and dairy products.

I suppose it can habitual more so then addiction but I have heard some people say they cannot have dinner that does not include meat. I do like and enjoy to eat meat, but I believe I can be without it for a while, not entirely for ever but I believe that once I eat it again, I can enjoy it very much.

Hi there :) I have not heard about it to be frank! All I know, for me is I love to eat meat but I would not consider that is addiction. Meat is nice and both beef and lamb are great :p however do be careful as too much meat is bad. It will clot the blood vessel due to the fats and create hypertension. It is good to eat meat but don't over eat it.. Too much will lead to health problem :)

Well, it could very much be possible. People are addicted to so many different things, why not to meat. As for me, I am vegetarian and do not eat meat.
