Has anyone here fainted? How did it feel? I heard some people feel GOOD when they do. I'm actually afraid to faint. I'm planning to go see a doctor in Jan. to get all my check ups done, which means they're probably draw blood from me. I've done it many times before but after my friend fainted after donating blood, I am afraid of it happening to me.

Oh gosh I have not in a long time, but I remember really well when I use to. I use to get a great deal of fainting spells to the point that I could recognize the immediate onset of my episodes. It was really weird as all of a sudden I would get light headed, and my vision began to blur and it got so bad that I would immediately say to myself, oh no here it comes. I remember one time an onset coming on and I was on the L station, on my way home, so immediately I held on to the rail as I was standing, there was no place to sit. So I hung on to the rail and everything went black. I remember talking myself through it and blink all of a sudden I came to, still holding on to the rail and was like 3 stops away from where I had to get off at. It was not a good feeling. I am anemic and long ago did not know of this as it was so bad it was causing the fainting spell. I am still anemic but have not had the episodes in like 8 years. Thank God.

Hello lore good day...i experienced it already though i hate it because i had also an experience of having almost fainted. On the situation that i fainted it was suddenly happened. I totally block-out and when I regained consciousness i was already lying on the ground. I stood up immediately and it's true you would feel comfortableness after the incident. The one that I don't like is the feeling you would feel going to be fainted that would make me feel nervous because your vision slowly blurred while your heart pumps fast abnormally until everything would be gone.. For me I better go on fainted right away than feeling slowly fainting.. About blood letting, I was afraid of seeing blood before but right now it's okay I already overcome my fear because regularly I donate my blood for the charity and also for my own health purposes... Nice topic...keep it up.. Mobhomeir here..

I had some fainting spells in my teenage years. Some of them pretty embarrassing. It feels awful to faint, because you have to depend on others to help you, because you are no longer in a position to do anything on your own. In fact, when you faint, you are in a vulnerable situation. If there weren't anyone to help you, it's dangerous and I would not want to be in such a position anymore. I have my blood drawn many times in my life. I have no jitters about it. Just relax and everything will be fine.

Oh my gosh, I was 12 years old when I fainted for the first time. It did not feel good, and was one of the most horrifying things in my life. I had broke out with these great big hives (we attributed it to canning tomatoes) and my Mom took me to the hospital. While we were there, my eyes started spinning (like a top--remember those old spinning toys?) and then the room started spinning too...and I fell against my Mom. I was so scared. The Dr. wanted me to stay overnight for observation, I didn't want to stay...the nurse thought I was faking...right a 12 year old little girl, faking that she fainted..Heck, I looked like a tomato!! Well, I went home with my Mom....lol :) That was the first time and last time I ever fainted!!

I have fainted once in the market because the weather is very hot. It doesnt feel good when you faint, believe me. My head aches when I faint even though I didnt fall and you cant see anything because it will turn into black. After I have eaten and drink warm water I feel suddenly good. Thank God that my mom was there amd some people helped us.

I fainted once, from stress. You know, in TV and movies, how one scene will fade into another (not a cut, but a semi-quick fade? Sound and picture? That's what it's like. It feels like an instant. You don't know how long you're out. You could be out five seconds, five minutes, or five hours, it'll feel like a fade. Time just disappears, and you have no recllection of the time you were unconcious.

it has always been easy for me to faint. Just take a little blood from me. My first sign is tunnel vision and then a roaring in my ears. Then I am out like a light. Since I am a control freak I hate this feeling.

Most people don't faint when giving blood. I have fainted but all due to low blood sugar. Its not a great feeling to me at all. Thankfully it hasn't happened to me in years. However, you get all sweaty, feel cold at the same time and weak and then you go down. I remember fainting on my way to work. I was waiting for the ferry to come in standing there with a bunch of people all around. I knew I was going to go down and told the two people next to me what was happening. Thankfully they grabbed me to get me to a bench before I hit the ground. I can't imagine anyone thinking its a good feeling. Just think positive when you go for the blood test and you will be ok. I don't look at the needle and I relax my arm completely so it doesn't hurt. A good nurse or doctor who takes the blood won't hurt you if you are relaxed. Good luck to you!

Hi dear, I never fainted so far. When I was in the school, we might have common assembly in the morning on the school ground. It may go for 1/2 hr. to 45 mts. All class students need to stand in line on the sun and some of the students would faint and fell down. It was sure the 1 or 2 students used to feel down by fainting. From 1st standard to 10 standard I studied and I never got like this. In fact I prayed several times to happen to me also. But never happened. The fainted students would taken to the school office room and they lay down for some time and become alright. No student had faced any problem due to this fainting. It may be because of tiredness and standing long time below the sunlight. As it was long back and those days the high schools were limited. So many students were coming to school from more than 15 kms. walking and they used to go back in the evening also by walk. Most of the student may not have proper break fast and such poor health problems might be the reason they got fainted. Lucky, I got only 10 mts. walk distance from home to school. But I never fainted. Thank-s

Thankfully, I haven't experienced fainting. Maybe if it would happen to me someday, I wouldn't know. I wish it wont happen tho, I'm afraid of losing consciousness at the most unexpected place.
