I have recently started a blog about life on our hobby farm and I would like to share a piece of it with you. After reading this, tell me what else I can add to this to make it better. These are the kinds of posts that I have on it, but I want to add extra stuff. Should I add recipes or what?
I call this my funny farm report. Here it is:
As we are only a week out from Christmas, I hope that all of you are farther ahead than I am. Money has been tight here and so shopping has not been an active process here and we are just getting started. I am happy to say that they few gifts that I bought ahead have been a blessing. Plus, I have made some gifts for friends this year. I have plans for next year too as I know several things that I want to do for friends and loved ones.
The farm has been cold and snowy this week as well. I am thankful that my husband will do most of the feeding when snow flies so that I do not have to go out as I am not a snowbird and would prefer the temperature to be 80 degrees. We had snow come in last Saturday and blanketed us with about 3 inches and then we had more on Wednesday and Thursday that left us with another blanket of about 4 inches and so we have plenty of the white stuff, but it looks as though we are in for more on Monday and Tuesday. I sure hope it doesn’t get slick as we have to do some major shopping this week.
The snow has put me in the Christmas spirit a little more than I was. I have baked cookies and breads a few times this week. I have discovered that if I get up early and get a start on them before anyone else in the house gets up, I can get much more done and it seems to go much faster. I have baked three kinds of cookies this morning and made 5 loaves of zucchini bread. I love the smell of fresh bread baking and have decided that one of my all time favorite taste is warm oatmeal cookies. YUMMY!!!
We are going to some friends home for dinner tonight and I am looking forward to it. I was unable to go to the library this week for the home school group and so I have certainly missed my friends. The kids were supposed to make gingerbread houses and decorate at the library this week, but most didn’t go as the roads were slick and snow covered. However, my daughter and her friend and siblings made them at the friends’ house. Instead of making gingerbread houses, they made barns complete with horses (animal crackers) and hay bales (Frosted Mini Wheats). They are so cute!! A very innovative idea, but I would never think to do that.
Well, the cat is looking in the window at me wanting to be fed so I guess I better get close this weeks’ report and talk to all of you later. Looking forward to the Christmas holiday and remember that there is a reason for the season.
Okay, what should I add?

I think you should add recipes, and describe the gifts you have made and the gifts you plan to make for next year. That would make it really homey. It would be helpful and inspiring to others.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about adding recipes. I hadn't thought about the gifts.

Thanks for the advice. I thought of adding recipes to the blog. I was thrilled that my daughter came up with a gingerbread barn instead of a house.

Thanks for putting the blog in. I usually do not follow the links in discussions, but it was nice having it right there. I do not think it was too long. I did not add that I think the gingerbread barns sound adorable.

my blog is at blogspot and it is slatersfunnyfarm there. I do not think that I can add that as a link here. I would love for you to read the blog but I thought that it would make for a fun discussion.
