Things you want to discuss in mylot but you cant get responses

I like to talk about fighting games, crossover fighting games, survival horror games, marvel comics, manga and anime but the thing is most mylot members are either not geek for those things or they were too casual for it. I also have Tv shows I want to talk about here but the discussions about those just get ignored or people are too casual about them for me to enjoy a discussion about those topics here.
So I resort to those messageboards that doesn't pay but has the people who likes to talk about those topics. The things I discuss here in mylot are things I like that the market of people here appreciates.
I also want to discuss science fiction, technology and literature but discussions about those dont get responses.
I think someday I will have those people here in mylot once we have more members, I consider our community still small compared to those free forums.
How do you think Mylot can steal people away from the free forums?

I'm into some of those things, actually, hehe. But I'm kinda having the same problem as you... I've made a few discussions about stuff I'm into but unfortunately got no responses. I guess people just weren't interested or didn't really know about it. Then again, you never know, there are a lot of users here after all.
As for those people posting in free forums, I guess not many know they can actually get paid for doing what they're already doing, so to speak... or maybe some of them are hesitant/suspicious about that kind of stuff, since there are so many scam sites. I don't know, I guess if one could show them that myLot is a legit site and a very fun place to be in, maybe they'd feel like joining.

I do hope there is a way to get those people here since this place is drowning from the earn online topics. I think there is a certain tv show I like and there is another person who watches it too but I cant discuss it happily because the other person complains about the show while I was enjoying it. So there is no connection.
In case of video games, its hard to find people plays the same video game to me and most gamers who joins mylot quickly gives up.

Definitely, it doesn't seem like there are many gamers in here... or well, if there are, they're all hidden!

Pop culture area of mylot really suffers, people dont listen to the same singers, watches the same Tv shows and as I said earlier people dont play the same video games. Its just scattered. If we can get more people here, then there will be hope to discussions. sometimes two is enough for a party, a single person that likes a topic you really like so bad is enough to have a satisfying discussion.

I've noticed the video games I love to talk about on here, not many people are talking about that video game and they aren't many discussions in the video games section anyways. Even though I love myLot, I still go on the official Playstaion forum to talk about games there since the gamers are there.

Can't be in too many forums since I don't have time, but I have been in the Playstation forum since 2005 and still going. Most of my favorite games are talked about on there and I've been invited to do Beta and get free demos for being there so long.

Most of my activity is actually in the Capcom Forums, I'm really obsessed with that company as is 80 percent of the games I play are created by them.

In my case I go to the official Capcom,Bandai, Konami, EA and Eidos official forums so I cant talk about my favorite games there. Sometimes I suggest features to the developers and I can proudly say when I was 15 Capcom used one of my suggestions before but that is a long story.

Hi, I shared some of your interests and I too have the same problem as you encountered. It's because mylot has many threads ongoing everyday (or even every hour), I find it difficult to keep track. Even if for same interests, there can be many different categories, such as for anime and manga, it also has different storyline, thus, I doubt it's gonna be easy unless there are already small groups of people who shared this same likings.

For me, I like anime, manga and TV Shows. However, the titles I am into are limited because I am hardly following new titles and sticking only to the those which I followed previously such as One Piece, Naruto and some already ended series such as Kyo Kara Maou, Prince of Tennis etc.
Even TV shows that I am into are less likely to be discussed because I am into Asian dramas and a few English ones. Although occasionally I might stumble into a few discussions that are related, I don't really dig them unless it is within the first few pages in myLot. I guess that's a big obstacle in preventing me from responding to discussions.

A single person who is active that shares the same interest is enough to make a chain in the discussion, I really like it when a discussion have chains on it, its really rewarding. Specially of you are both obsessed with the topic. If I can only convince 4 people from 4 different forums where I was a member, Its gonna be awesome.
what are the topics you really like that you struggle with the most?
I still occasionally try niche titles in hopes of finding a person that shares interest. 1 got lucky to have 1 then they will quit mylot later.
