Huge crocheted slipper mistake!

I decided to try my hand at some crocheted slippers that I found at: http://knittingbiblestudy.com/patterns/HouseSlippers.pdf Since the pattern said they were a size 6/7 I had to use a larger hook to make the slipper bigger, since I average a size 9 foot...even the pattern says to use a bigger hook for a bigger slipper. Anyway, I finished the sole of the slipper and thought to myself, "Looks good" and started on the upper. It didn't take me long to realize it was going to be to big, at least for me. But, I figured maybe one of my boys would be able to, although, I knew the Christmas colors would turn them off, but at least, I would know what hook to use for a slipper for them. I finished the slipper and was shocked at how HUGE it was. I could almost stick both my feet into this slipper. It was even too big for the boys and they wear a 12/13...my husband actually tried it on this morning OVER his shoe and it was too big! So, I'm trying my hand at it again today, with a smaller hook. Lets see how this comes out!! Hahahah, here's a picture for your laughing entertainment! I tried twice to upload a photo, but it didn't work...

I have done things like that in the past. I think it is funny. It could be annoying or frustrating as well. Now you now where to start for you. I will have to follow that link and see how it looks.

After Christmas I may try to make some. Then I would have all year to perfect them before next Christmas. I did open the link and everything came through great.

Its a super easy pattern too!! One of the easiest patterns for slippers I've ever worked up! Now just to get them smaller :)
