Do you pick up money when you find it?

I have been picking up lots of change lately. I run a lot and most of the time I can find 20 to 30 cents on a run. Some days not as much. I even pick up pennies and they have added up now to $2.00. That's not much, but some of my ptc sites have a pay out set at that amount! And that's a lot of clicks!I find a lot of dimes too, really a lot of them! This morning I found a quarter and a penny while crossing a parking lot. Recently I found a one dollar bill and even a few weeks ago a five dollar bill!! You know I picked that up!! Do you pick up money when you see it on the ground?

Yeah, I found a five dollar bill not long ago too, and a one dollar bill! Hoping for the twenty next!! lol!! Very cool about finding the necklace. I haven't found anything like that yet, but I found a thick sock hat that I washed and wear to run on cold mornings!

Yes all of the time. I always keep an eye on the ground when I am walking outside, because people tend to get careless and drop change on the ground. Which shows me that a lot of people really do underestimate the value of money. Throw all of it a jar and when it gets full, put it in a money market when it can collect some interest. People are just throwing money away, but hey, their loss is my gain.

It's funny for me though, when I look for money I never find a cent! But then when I am outside and not even thinking about it at all I find it everywhere!! I have four rolls of pennies already! that's two bucks!

I would have to say definitely!I know to some this may seem to desperate but I don't care as I put it in a moneybox for my daughter & when it's full, we take it to the bank & put it in her account - she is 3 1/2 so is learning how to save her money...it is amazing at how fast the change you pick up grows.

Of course I do every little bit helps. I love finding money especially dollar bills. I only pick up pennys if they are heads up. I don't know why but I think its suppose to bring you luck or something like that. I found a dime the other day in the parking lot of the supermarket and picked it up. I haven't found as much as you but then again I don't go running either. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year!

The saying goes "Finders, keepers". So yes, if I find any money, I will pick it up and keep it. Before someone shouts dishonesty, let me frank here. If you ignore it, someone else will pick it up. If you pick it up and hand it over to police, who knows what they will do with it. The person who lost it wont go to police station and make a report, unless it is a huge amount.

IF I found a large amount of money, I would turn it in to thepolice. Because my luck is it would be counterfeit! lol! But the small amounts I figure are up for grabs. Now if someone was around and said it was thiers I would gladly hand it over whether or not they were honest!

I definitely pick up money if it's at least a dime. I usually pick up nickels too, but sometimes I skip on pennies... I'll admit it, I'm just a little lazy sometimes. I think pretty much everyone would pick up quarters and dollars, that's always fun!

I always bend down and pick up money when I find it. It is kind of embarassing to know that people see me bending down to pick up change as small as a cent but to me it all adds up. Every little bit counts especially when you have very little money. If I am with my kids I point out the money to them and tell them to put it in their pockets for their piggy banks. I have found a lot of money over the years. Sometimes large sums of money but usually just very small amounts. I hate when you go to stores and they have quarters glued to the floor to try to embarrass you when you go to pick it up. I just think thats mean.

Hey - I just went to the store and bought some eggs, cheese and fruit. All with change! The change I've been picking up on my runs each morning! Now that's profit!!

Usually, if I do find money on the ground, I will pick it up. I rarely am able to find money lying on the ground, but occasionally, I will be able to find some.

loonie and toonie - The only way i pick up change off the ground, is if it's a loonie or a toonie.
Not unless it's a toonie($2) or a loonie($1). I do not bother with the other change.

I would pick up money if I ever found it, but seems that nobody drop yens these days... I would probably pick change if I found it, as little by little it can sum up, like in your case, even if it's not a big quantity. People these days are very different in different sides of the world, I see, here people seem to hold onto their change tight

I sure would as each penny adds up and as you and all of us know it. The way we avidly work online they do not come so easy. So simply picking them up and placing them in a jar and cashing them in from time to time certainly makes for a little cushion. LOL

Sometimes this is true for me as well... but usually I need it! lol! It can also depend on my time. If I am running and working on my time I might not stop for a penny!

Well, of course if there is some sort of id I would send it all to the address included. While ago I found a wallet with id and stuff in it but no money.. I mailed it to them anyway so they would know it was safe and hopefully they would not have to spend the money to replace the license and all!

Yes, I do the same. I pick any centavo or coins that I walk by the street. These coins are useful when you have many of them. These coins will be useless when just dropped in the ground and nobody picks it up.

I suppose if I pick them up they will all add up eventually! My bank gives me penny rolls so that I can neatly keep them organized by 50's. That's a big help as I already have three of those rolls of pennies alone!

I pick up money when I find it; why not? It's money and it spends just like any other money. The most I ever found was a five dollar bill in a woodpile. I have no clue how it got there, but there was no one around and hadn't been for some time. I've found a lot of coins in parking lots. I sometimes park at the far corner of the lot just so I can walk to the store and have a better chance of finding coins.

HI Macdingolinger, Yes, I do pick up change all the time. I save it all in a jug along with my own change. It adds up. I would say that I collect close to 30.00 each month. I try not to spend it and let it add up but you know how that goes.

Normally if i find money on the floor then i will pick it up but if someeone has noticed they have dropped it then i might give it back. But most of the time then i will just take it myself.

Haha, that reminds me when I was small. I used to go to the bookshop with my mother when I was about 8 years old. Well, the thing is, people go there to buy books or just browse books. For me, I go there to browse for money on the ground LOL!!! I was kind of addicted to doing that since I first found money on the ground a few months back at that time. I also found a $1 coin at the supermarket but didn't dared to pick it as the security guard was standing there. Well, as a child. From that time onwards, I'll always scan the ground for any coins. But not when I've grown up

That's pretty sad. Usually I am running and no one is around or in a parking lot where no one is around. The five dollar bill was laying at the entrance of a paid parking lot but again no one was around. Then the dollar I found was at a gas station and I scooped it up and put it in my pocket but I didn't see anyone looking for money!

I pick up change whenever I see it on the ground. I haven't gone out much recently, but I did find a couple of pennies in the grocery store the other day. They aren't much money by themselves, but they sure can add up in the long run! Sometimes I walk to the Sonic drive-in near our house to look for change. I get weird looks, but there have been a few days when I made a couple of dollars just by finding coins in the drive-in bays. A lot of people won't bother getting out of their vehicles to pick up change when they drop it. I'm sure some of them would reconsider if they'd seen my huge jar of found change!
