... someone you have met on the Internet and feel specially drawn to? Have you met them face to face yet and, if so, was it everything you dreamed of?

I wish you good luck. It seems that you go carefully and are watchful of the 'red flags' - signs that two people may not have quite the same intentions in continuing the relationship!

Well the best thing about online thing is of course the intial factor of outer beauty is outta the way. You get to know who that person really is but actually the few that I've gotten close didnt disappoint in any way apperance wise. Just when u see the picture u see more than the physical appearance.

Not right now but I did a few years ago, well it must have been about 5 years ago now. I met him face to face and although he wasn't as good looking as I was hoping for(!) he did turn out to be a really nice person. I still occassionally keep in touch with him as we split amicably. But basically, [hysically he wasn't everything I dreamed of but everything else was almost right!

I think that Internet relationships are very interesting - they start inside-out, as it were. Sometimes that seems to be a good thing, sometimes not, since physically a lot of people don't come up to scratch ... and then you wonder if that is why one met them online in the first place!

I try to start inside-out with any relationship. I don't like to judge people on their physical appearance. I mean he wasn't really ugly or anything, he just didn't desribe himself accurately!

It is very hard being away from someone you love. It's not a new thing, though. Think of all the soldiers and sailors who went away for months at a time before the Internet and phones were invented!

Well, I haven't physically met anyone from online, but both my sisters have. I have made a lot of friends online though, some from Australia, some from America, some from places like Cambridge and Lancashire in England too! I have made most of my friends through a different answers site, or Yahoo 360, it's brilliant to be able to talk to people from all over the world.

Online friends are really good and it's fun to meet them, too. I have met up with several friends that I made online and we had a ball! Most of my friends were made through Literati, Answers or 360, I think, since I haven't been on here that long.

I did have and yes I met him face to face. It's funny cos I was just messing about in a chatroom and him and another fella wanted to private message, but I was busy playing a silly game with someone, anyway she went and I was still bored, so I decided to see if either of the lads were still there and they were, they both had the same name, but one was spelt an unusual way, so I chose to speak to him, we chatted for a bit, then he called me, we talked over the next few days and decided to meet, but he worked a lot, so it wasn't until about a month later that we met up, he came to me from London(I was in Warwickshire) and we had a lovely day together, since then we've been together for 3 and a half years and lived together for 2 and a half. I would say we're soul mates, so yes it was everything I'd dreamed of :)

Awww! What a lovely story! It can happen, I know, though many people have had bad experiences, sadly.

I have a long distance relationship, but I didn't meet my partner on the internet. It was on holyday, three years ago, so it's been quite a long time now and I'm so happy it still works like a charm :) In addition, I think meeting people from the internet is hard, because as far as now I've only met perverts and other "strange" characters... better meet somebody in real life or write them by normal mail (am I old-fashioned?)

You can meet some odd and sometimes just nasty people on the Internet. It does depend where you go to meet them, of course. I have met almost everybody I know online through games or forums where people weren't primarily there to 'chat' or pick up girls/men.

Yes I do. I have met some of my best friends in the world on the internet and have met many of them face to face. I have a very special relationship with one of them and it's much more than I ever dreamed it would be. I never thought I would be making real friends online as I have never been looking for that but I'm glad I met all those people and I know we will all stay in touch for years to come.

Notice that it says "Please be as descriptive as possible." Your answer doesn't tell us anything so it doesn't deserve a +!
