Today while coming back home by train from my daughter’s home, where we were for a week, I saw a person sitting on the front seat. He was squint eyed, eyes had abnormal alignment, one appeared to look at right and the other to left.
The man was jolly, very much cheerful. A guy sitting near me laughed at him, this the man could see.
I thought, he will slap this guy, but to my utter surprise, he said well friend, I ate a lot of crabs during my youth, hence the eyes are like those of crabs.
This created laughter in the entire compartment.
Friends, some people are so jolly, are always happy.
Have you ever met such a person, say during journey, or at your place?
Please share.

I have never encountered anyone like this in my life. However, I think that it is great that the man that you ran into was able to make light of the fact that he had what most people would consider to be a disability. I don't know that I would ever be able to make light of the fact that there was something about me that most people would view as a disability. In fact, I try to keep the fact that I have a very weak ankle hidden so that I won't get pity from other people.

Some people can really make their handicap or misfortune into humor. He is really a jolly good fellow and uses his physical shortfall to bridge friendship as he doesn't shy away the asset that God has given him. He could have used dark glasses to conceal his crab eyes but am sure he is blessed with a pleasant character and a great joker.

I hope that what the man said and every one laughed that the one laughing at him felt very small
I have tried to teach kids not to point or laugh at anyone that is special Now very hard to teach grand daughter this for the kids at school havent been taught the same but we do tell her it isnt nice and would hurt someones feeling.
Happiness is what you put into it and being jolly is one of those traits

I have met many people like this in my life and i meet one person everyday and that is myself. In the early 80`s i used to travel by a special bus to work and meant only for handicapped persons. They all had some disability ,orthopaedic, blind, deaf, dumb, paraplegic, humpback and i too was one like them. I have never seen a bunch of people more jollier than the, taking their handicaps not seriously at all and even making fun of themselves. We used to have an uproarious tome full of fun and laughter and the journey to and fro from our place of work was one of the most enjoyable.People with disabilities are more strong willed than normal people and one can see in daily life how much they contribute to society.I have made peace with my handicap and am living a wonderful life without any tension or distress. Many people come to me and go away feeling uplifted.Maybe Prof saheb, whenever you come to Mumbai and visit me you will know what i mean.

This is a wonderful story. I like this kind of self-confident and humorous person a lot. And it reminds me of the importance and meaning of humor. Humor is a magical medicine to tension.
Happy New Year

Opens with a story, where there is a woman who was waiting to get into the plane. To pass the time, he bought a fantasy book and a packet of cake. After that he was waiting in a lounge and there was a man sitting next to him while reading a magazine. PARCEL cake similar to that purchased the woman lying in between. When the woman took a cookie from the packet, the man took a cake. The woman was shocked and thought to myself "Brazen, why he took my cake?". That incident was repeated, until finally left a cake.
The woman did not say anything because he did not want to look for noise in public places. He waited, what would these men would do with the chair. Apparently the man who lived one takes the cake and halve the cake. Half the cake was eaten, and the other half is given to women. The woman was outraged, and finally left the lounge is to immediately get into the plane. Arriving on the plane, the woman opened her purse, and what he found? He bought a packet of cake! Apparently, he ate cake in the lounge is owned by men, and men are also not angry at all when he ate his cake, even sharing a cake with him. He also felt very guilty, but it was too late. No further opportunity can apologize, only a very deep regret.

dear professor,
have you noticed? most people with abnormalities like this can very much adopt to the stares and mocks of the people around him. some people would even make fun and others cruel. but they have so much tolerance. the man sitting with you on the train is a happy person. i love meeting people like those, they have very good sense of humour. it makes me feel, life is easier.
thank you for sharing your experience on the train. am sure you had a very pleasant trip on your way back home.
have a nice day.

Yep, there are some people who's just too jolly you can't predict what they'll do. For some reason, we have this perception on what'll happen, that is, what a normal person's tendency is after a certain event that have happened. This guy you mentioned, however, reacted differently which differentiates him from the rest. Some reactions really are eye-catching. There are some that're positive and some negative. The negatives are mostly regarded as abnormal, in my opinion, and the positive is more often than not, cute, adorable, inspiring, etc.. You can never go wrong if you really have good intentions towards others.

This is really inspiring! This guy reminds everyone that we are blessed. There are so many blessings in our lives, but sometimes, we're just too blind to see them.
I have blurry eyes and sometimes complain about it, but I realized that I have a better case than that guy.
Thanks to you professor for sharing the story!
