The Worst Mood

Last December 23 was an unforgettable day for me. It was the day I found out that we will not be receiving our additional month pay before Christmas. It was the day I cancelled my hotel reservation because the money that I was expecting (the additional month pay)will not be arriving in time for Christmas. It was the day I was able to confirm that the guy I'm dating was seen flirting and cuddly with his ex-girlfriend. It was the day when an office mate whom i dislike so much was especially annoying at work. As a result, I was really hot-headed the whole day. Everyone in the office was aware of this and can sense my volatile temper. There are those who asked what's the matter with me, while there are those who kept their distance and knew better. The day seemed endless but I managed not to bite a head. The next days became better for me because I knew somehow, despite the worst mood that I showed that day (December 23), I was able to overcome my anger. It's probably the best way to deal with my anger, rather than to pretend that everything's okay when it's not. How do you overcome the worst mood? Do you keep quiet and keep your anger to yourself? Or do you let the world know and warn them to keep their distance? :p

I ususally keep my anger, but not always, if my trouble-making students do not behave in class. I might lose my temper and yell at them to keep quiet. But most times I am good-tempered and manage to keep quiet when anger is about to come about. Lately I read an article that letting out anger is not good and it is better for us to think about it before we get really angry and figure out the reason whe it is so and whether it is worth it. So I am now trying to follow the rules not to get angry with those poorly-behaved ones. Thanks for the discussion.

Thanks for the response. You made me think and consider whether letting out the anger is worth it. :) I will do this next time. :)

So that's why! I should have read this discussion first. I commented on one of the responses earlier where you said that you did had a bad mood just before Christmas, and your family was there to turn the tide. Anyway, I am an expert in keeping all my anger bottled up inside me. I could have a smile on my face, yet I'm steaming inside. Just don't be around when I finally let it out.

Hi Bounce. :) Wow, that's great. Sometimes I am a good actress when it comes to hiding emotions--except anger. :p I just can't hide it when I'm mad. New Year was a lot better than Christmas. Thanks for asking. :) I'm sure you had a good holiday with your family. :)

So sorry to read of so many bad occurrences. Best thing to do is try to remain calm, think positive and allow time to heal. Keep yourself a bit busy so that you can distract your mind from thinking to deeply on the issues. If at best a New Year is approaching to hope for a better year. Advanced Happy New Year to you filled with great health!

I am a quick tempered person in addition to having an acerbic tongue. I know that i hurt a lot of people when i snap at them when i get angry and for that i am so regretful. Because of my temper, everyday of my life i pray to God to help me keep my temper down and help me restrict my tongue from being bity to other people. In addition to praying i always drink my B1, B6, B12 vitamins. It helps me to have calm nerves. But to demonstrate, when i am angry i really show it. I want everybody to know i am angry, so everyone will avoid me for the moment and leave me alone. But when i have vented out my anger, i subside. I am really quick to anger but it also quickly dissipate.

Hey, thanks for the info that Vitamin B1-6-12 helps calm the nerves. :) I'll keep that in mind.

I am a good woman but when my I am angry and very mad I don't know what I am capable to do.I've been my super doper worst mood.I can't control my temper when my heart beat so fast ans my tears about to fall that's the time you'll see how wild like a animal I am.I've throw all things I am holding and I don't care where place I am. That is I am trying to avoid,I know it;s very uneducated manner. But it's very hard to avoid my values.I think, this is just mt attitude.

Wow that sounds really tough... I tend to try to keep things quiet, but your approach is definitely better. But it takes some courage :) Good Luck!

Thanks. We have different ways of dealing with anger. I'm usually quiet when I'm angry, but my expression and action shows that I'm mad. LOL.

Hi arystine, when i get mad, i just let it come out and express it. i ever read in psychology book that if we mad we better express it than we keep it inside. the mad will overcome and could become a greater mad. just kick some tree or pillow so you can get your mad come out
