Tar Pits

Tar pits are natural deposits of asphalt and there are only 3 countries which have tar pits: Trinidad and Tobago, USA (CA), and Venezuela. The largest one is located in Trinidad and Tobago and it's called Pitch Lake. It is in the area called La Brea which means tar in Spanish. The one in California is famous for the bones of animals found in these pits, of who fell in when drinking water. There bones are preserved at the local museum.
