Would any of you tell me what to do with them? I will eat on in milk shake (I love it that way), and I will also eat it in juice and fruit salad. But, is there such a thing as mango jam? Mango are imported where I live but those were very unexpensive and I love them. But I overdid in the quantity. And another question: how long will they keep in the fridge? Please HELP!!!

Your mangos are probably long gone now, but here's an idea for the future. We live in Florida & have mangos quite often. My daughters love mango smoothies. We blend yogurt, organe juice, mangos, and ice in a blender. It makes a great summer treat. It's healthy & sweet. We also use mangos in salad. I like to put them in a green leafy salad with shrimp topped with a citrus balsamic dressing.

I haven't made it myself, but my mum has. there's bound to be lots of recipes online, especially websites with lots of indian cookery. it's good with spicy food, but also excellent with cheeses.

You can use mango chutney to flavour curries and satays. Yum. You might try mango pickles too. Both chutney and pickles can be used to accompany cold meats. . Just look online and I'm sure you will be overwhelmed with ideas.

I would cut them up and put them in the freezer. This is how I keep peaches and berries, and they taste pretty good later on. I usually use them in baking or with breakfast.

I will have to check on mangos and freezer. Not all fruits freeze well. We have here a type of peach that freezes well and it is good for canning but others that don´t. Thanks for the idea.

Mangoes are nice fruit but they can't be stored for a long time. I do think it is a good idea to make the mango jam because you can even do it at home easily. It is not the mango season here. So I hardly see fresh mangoes here. I have to wait for the summer. At that time I can buy a lot of mangoes and make mango jam at home. I love China

i have a mango tree in front of my house. there will be a lot of mango if the mango season comes. mango can stay fresh for more or less than 1 week in fridge and you put it on the plastic bag. you can also make mango jam. it is delicious and easy to make. you can try to make it.

1. clean the mango's skin and wash throughly 2. cut it into slices. it is better in small pieces. or you can blend it if you like. i don't like to blend it because it is too smooth. 3. put the souce pan or pot on the stove with the small temperature 4. pour the small pieces of mango into the souce pan or pot, add some sugar. usually if i make 1 kg mango, the sugar is 1 kg also. but you can add as you like. 5. stir the mango and the sugar. you have to always stir well and don't leave it. 6. it is ready when the colour is turn into dark yellow. it is the way i make the mango jam. if you like you can add acid to make it more sour. i usually donot add water.

I know you have probably dealt with youe excess mangoes by now but for next time, you could consider making a chutney out of the mangoes - they usually require green mangoes but I don't see the problem with using ripened mangoes.

I did a search for mango recipes and found some for mango salsa? you could try that and see if you'd like it. I don't know how long they'd keep in the fridge but I just researched that and they said do not refridgerate.

Hi marguicha... Happy new year... you may make pickle or jelly from those mangoes. If you freeze them according to temperature then, it should last almost 15 days. Better, send some of them to me. lol. Take care.
