I am back on Mylot after 4 years

I used to be quite an active user on MyLot and loved the experience, but due to some reasons had to be away from it for a long time. A lot has changed in my life since then. I worked at a job which didn't work out for me, had an unsuccessful relationship, lost and regained hope of things getting better and a whole lot of other things. All this while I missed Mylot- not because of the money factor but the pleasure it gave me when I interacted with my friends on their viewpoints and problems and mine too. So here I am, making a conscious effort to get back at doing things I liked and mylotting is surely one of them. Like in my life, a lot has changed on mylot too and I feel a bit lost. So can anyone please help me out in finding my way . Thankfully I was able to start a discussion because I saw an option at my profile page. A little help will be appeciated. I would also like my friends to share (if they want to) what have changed in their lives in these years.

Welcome back kingatul, we were not friend until today, but I do have a piece of advice, be careful of what you post and where you post. The site has changed in the four years you were gone, they have become a lot more strict where guidelines are concerned. So if you post something against the rules or reply to a similar discussion it will get deleted. So don't be surprised if you start seeing a notification from mylot that something was deleted...

Thanks for the informtion carmelanirel. I will follow your advice and will double check whenever I'm posting a new discussion or post. I was going through the myLot notices and found out that they really have become quite strict with their rules and guidelines. Hopefully I won't find myself on the recieving end of these rules and actions.

Ohh, so does ending up in a deleted post/reply also is bad. Thanks for the update carmelanirel. It is really insightful. I'll be extra cautious now.

Sometimes even when we are careful, we do end up with a deleted post or reply. Don't worry about it unless you can't find it in the guidelines. If that is the case, there is an Alice/Alex, (From what I gathered it started out as Alice, but the real name is Alex,) and he is part of mylot admin and can answer your questions. Thing is, I think only a certain number of people know how to contact him on the profile, but I might be wrong, maybe they are contacting them through the "contact" link at the bottom. I'll double check on that one..

Hi king, I was about to criticize your post about Shawshank Redemption when I decided to check on how young you are. That movie is A-okay but there are prison movies that are good as well, such as Count of Monte Cristo or Double Jeopardy. Well, I thought you must be young, impressionable still, and had not seen as many movies... So you can't really say that Shawshank is your favorite movie ever... But I do give you credit for recognizing a good film... As it is, I am sure you will encounter more criticism now that you are back in mylot. I do consider this site one place where we can air our thoughts, propagate our creed, rant about our complaints, make friends, give advises, argue our case, and all in the name of corresponding with real, fearless people. See you around, young king!

Hi eileen, I appreciate your comment. I surely haven't seen many prison movies but this one left quite an impression. May be over the years I'll see better movies, but for now this holds the top spot. I will be ready for the criticism which is waiting for me. See you around.

Welcome back. Glad to see someone still remember Mylot after awhile. I've also just recently returned to Mylot after not posting for one and a half year. I decided to return posting here as my wife encouraged me to look for extra money. In my opinion, posting on Mylot is not for money making but I'd love to comment about people's post. It's a warm community too so that's good that every one of us from all over the world posting their comments. It's also good to hear someone sharing about something and this could be benefit for us. Mylot just rocks.

Thanks a lot jhartana. I always remembered myLot even when I wasn't here.. I also don't really look at it as a money option, rather its a place where I can see what's going around in the world and what are the things which hold importance in my friend's lives. When I share some experience with someone, he can gain some insight in that particular situation without actually going through it. See you around.

I might have joined around the same time.... but 4 years is really long!!! You deserve a definite WELCOME BACK! I too was away for some 2 years still all the changes here were made in my more-or-less presence. As you already know, rules have got strict. No particular advice from me. Just explore and enjoy! Ahhh not much change in my life. At that time I was about to enter the college life. Now I'm about to leave it.

I have never left mylot that long and coming back after such a long lapse is like starting all over again. Mylot has seen a lot of changes and upgraded this place to make it more conducive to the members. You would now have to familiarize yourself with the new changes. I've been here more or less around the time you joined mylot and I've not gotten over mylot addiction yet. So welcome back to mylot and am glad that Mylot's door is always open to returnees regardless of how long they went missing in action.

Welcome back! 4 years is a long time! I was gone for about 1 year and came back too. I notice that it seems a little more 'on watch' these days and discussions that are repeated or that do the follow the rules get deleted.. so just becareful with that..(although, mine hasn't been deleted yet, some that I've answered to have). My life has changed very drastically since 4 years ago. I lived in another city then and was married.. I never even heard of Mylot then. A lot has changed! Bumpy roads but for the better.

Hello, Welcome back to myLot! Wow 4years is really too long. I have been here for only a year and within that stay, so far i haven't saw any changes here. It's just that i had gained more friends, i feel at home here already and it has been more fun. Well you can see repeated topics still but the way it is being delivered is different somehow so you can still respond to it. The rules are still the same when i registered here, probably 4years ago it was different so you might as well want to read the guidelines again. And the members are increasing more everday so you will be seeing a lot of new names here. See more of you around

Hello gaiza12. Thank you and I'm glad to know that you're having a gala of a time at myLot. I used to just love it back then. And yes I can see that things have changed hopefully for the good. I have gone through the guidelines and been already taking that extra precaution while posting discussions or responding to them. Yes the population of MyLot have increased a lot now. Looking forward to see new faces in my friends list

wow, that is a long time for you not posting here. I guess that you were busy huh. Well, welcome back, and I hope that you will find your joy here once again. So, do you sign up with a new username and password, or do you still use the old one, would it still be workable for you?

Surprisingly myLot kept my username intact and so Iwas able to login using that. I was a little nostalgic going through my and my friend's old discussions. But now I'm ready to take it to a whole new level and have a lots of meaningful discussions with the myLot populace.
