Do you get this in your area?

We have haze and inversion in our little valley today. Our weather has been in the 30's with 20's at night. Makes it look foggy out at night and early morning. And there is a smell like rotten eggs. UGH! The sky is a ugly greyish green and reminds me of smog-is the only way to describe it. It is like some weird science fiction movie just after the holocust and no one remains alive. And if you walk outside that scarey, creepy organ music starts. Know what I mean? So how is your weather? What part of the country are you in? What nice about it? Nothing here!

Bummer. We get this inversion normally this time of year up until March off and on. It lays over us for ages sometimes. And the smell-Yuck!

We have some freaky foggy mornings here but there isn't the egg smell. I suppose the movie The Fog could best describe it...lol...right now..there is snow. About three or so inches and more on the way..cold..cold...cold..lol...thank goodness I got the weekend off and don't have to get out in it.

Thank goodness there are day when we don't have to go out. The inversion brings the smell. Don't know why. I guess my friend won't be riding his bike for awhile. Stay warm.

Nope...that friend of yours will be grounded for some time..lol...we have had quite the bout here with the weather. We had tourists stuck in mountain getaway cabins for almost a week two weeks ago. We had three inches last night and expecting more Monday and Tuesday. The higher elevations usually get snow but it's been a long time since our valleys have had to deal with a bunch. I don't think my girls will ever go back to school at this rate..lol.

hi celticeagle oh yes its Southern California and the big old Pacific Ocean so what do we expect we will get some fog but its more apt to be closer to the ocean as we are about ten miles away so yes we get it occasionally but not as often as Long Beach, Huntington Beach and Laguna Beaches do. I remember one New Y ears eve we drove to Long Beach and it was a killer fog. we were following this car ahead of us and when we got to a patch of clear air we realized the driver ahead was right on tghe center line lol so we pulled over where we wre supposed to be. at least we did not meet many cars that night. we were on surface streets , I hate being on the freeway in the fog as there are so many who drive too fast just like idiots and make a blunder then others come along and plow into them and now you have a 7 or 9 car pileup. We came on one but had been driving below the speed limit so we could stop in time. It was just awful cars piled into cars and one car carrier truck was up ontop of some cars,. Ten people were killed in that and theere were twelve vehicles involved.

I hate the patchs of fog on the freeway. I rarely drive the freeway anyway. Piles up/ Ugh! Not fun. People just don't take such things seriously until something awful happens.

It rained here all day yesterday. Day before we got a light snow. You just never know around here. They say about the weather, if you don't like the weather just wait five minutes.

Good morning, u are not going to get many people that want to visit w/your description, lol. I'm like u i hate those doom & gloom days as i call them. I love the sunshine. I live in Tennessee & we have a little bit of everything. We don't have that smell, thank heavens.I hate bad smells. I live in a small town so we don't have any industry going on that would create the smog u are talking about. Hope it gets better. Happy weekend.

Morning! I like sunshine also. Our inversion is a nasty kind of fog. I have a friend that lives in tennessee that is on here too and a guy I met online that lives there as well. He rides a motorcycle and its sad for him not being able to ride it in the foul weather.

What cause the smell of rotten eggs. I live in Eastern Canada and right now it is snowing....lightly....big fluffy flakes. We had a green Christmas here.....which is an oddity for us. we had snow, rain, snow, rain. Winter snow is on it's way though....no doubt.

Yes, we still have the rest of January, February and the windy days of March to go through. I dislike the wind too. I guess I am just a total b#$%ch this time of year. Don't like the cold, the inversion, the snow and ice, the wind, it just goes on and on.

We have no farms near by and still there is the rotten egg smell with the inversion. It is just that it holds everything down. Not sure what it is caused from except that.

Weather here in my place is just fine, anyway smell of rotten eggs usually indicate the presence hydrogen sulfide gas which is very dangerous to your health, in my country , it is often encountered when you live near a volcano or if the volcano is showing signs of activity or it is about to erupt, hope you don't live near one. And the smog that's terrible so take care
