Is living as a joint family to be without other family members? I think it's better to live separate from other family members because it can create problems in your marriage. I think marriage is hard enough without having other family members seeing every argument or private moment. If I had to do it because it needed to be done then I would do it.

Fair enough I think, there must be some sort of privacy and independance

Yep.. living separate will be the better of the two because after marriage you have a whole lot of responsibilities, personal life which can be better taken care of is you live separate with your newly formed family.sounds selfish ...but that is how the world is ..!! In this fast moving world people seldom find time to keep in touch with their relatives..but whenever he/she finds time he/she should visit them or at least keep in touch ;given the wide means of electronic communication media, that has got damn easy.It inherently gives man the lasting happiness & satisfaction. But nuclear families indeed are the modern day solution keeping in mind the demand of the era.

hi, I prefer to live separately. I want to feel the freedom...no one to check on what time i woke up,or what time i sleep. It is always good to live separately from in-laws and family. Besides,it is a must to live independently and to learn the responsibilities of building a new home/family of your own. Have a good day always

If I'm gonna get married I prefer to live separately, I want to start my family by me and my husband alone. I want to make it as my own but I know that I will always be needing their help.

hi, most of people who get married will choose to separate with their parents, especially those female/wife, they will separate with her parents, and go with her husband. the others will separate because they already have new responsibilities with their new family...
