how to clean a kitchen strainer

We have various types of wire kitchen strainers for straining food items. I am looking for a way to clean all the small particals of food that get trapped in the holes. does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I would suggest using a wire brush and carefully wiping around the little holes and wires in the strainer. Or, you can also try soaking it. They're really not all that hard to clean if you just take a little time.
