Hello to fellow mylotters, Lately I have witnessed many people are turning to fortune tellers or card readers who wants to know what's in store for them in the future.Catholics have been discouraged by priests to seek the help of these seers, whom people thought can predict their future.Religious authorities are not authorizing this people to practice their trade within the vicinity of the Church and their words turn to deaf ears because the people are patronizing them. How about you my friend are you one of them?

I am catholic but i do not really mind those. I have never tried though, although my mom did once, and everything the woman said came true.

I am a tarot card reader. To be honest with you, those cards cannot predict future at all. As far as I know there are two kinds of psychics. While one group takes help from spirits and the other ones are naturally intuitive like my mother. She has some psychic ability since her birth. Is there any reason why the people you mentioned were turning to fortune tellers? I know that when people fall in misery they always want to find out when this thing will get out of their lives. But I think instead of trying to know the future, they should be trying their best to take action to improve their condition. It is actually not right to go to fortune tellers again and again. There is a heavy price to pay for this. Too much of reading can make a person addicted to it. Some can even go in severe depression. I wrote an article about the subject to warn people about the risks involved.

I totally agree with you that the best thing to do is help ourself and the do the best we can for improvements and not depend on what seer told us most of the time. It will just interefere with our judgment. Having agreed to that, i myself do not believe in fortune tellers. It's only God who knows our future. We ourselves creates our destiny. So , if you want a good destiny, make good on the ways to it.

Yes simplyd, why ask others about our future. It will only interfere in our decision making. Make good our path and God will help us to attain it.And if possible plan ahead what you want to be and make it happen through work and also don't forget to pray to God for assistance. Thanks

I know exactly what you meant. The cards actually work through energy. They pick up the current situation and show an outcome associated with that. But your free will has more power over everything. So it can change the outcome. Also the card meanings vary from one one reader to another. That is why, it is possible to get two different interpretations of the same cards. I am not a celebrity reader. I sometimes just read for friends. Since I am more future oriented I believe it is better to just take things in hand than waiting for the fate to make anything happen. Yes, there are some things that are out of our control. But again, a predictable life isn't fun! Just think like this, you have free access to a great psychic. Every night she tells you what will happen to you the next day. Surprisingly, it turns out to be true. Don't you think this will take all fun out of living a life? That is why, I think that unpredictable life is more fun. Let misery come. Yes, in the beginning, it will make us feel bad. But working against it will eventually make us stronger. To be honest with you, in real world, most tarot card readers and psychics who promote themselves as 100% accurate are simply scammers. Just as SYMPLYD said, only God knows what will happen to use tomorrow. Yes, those who use spirits can get a some idea of what his plans are, but they can still be wrong because he might end up changing them all later.

divination is not about knowing the future. we may get glimpses of future events, but the future isn't fixed. to give someone a reading is to be someone who is there to listen to their troubles, look at the things that are influencing them and what the possible outcomes may be. the main service isn't providing answers, but allowing someone to open up, talk through their situation, and in doing so they often find their own pathways out of their trouble. it's more therapy than answers. we help you process your situation and feel positive about ways you can change it if you need to. sometimes there is insight into what will happen. like when I was able to tell my friend who'd been looking for a job for ages that she'd done all she needed to do, and something was going to turn up. obviously she kept looking, but the job that she was offered was one she had applied for a very long time before, and forgotten about. one that required a criminal records check, which was still being processed at the time. so she'd given up on it before getting the call back, as it took so long. but the wheels were all in motion.

So if its destined for you it will most likely happen. Some people maybe just want to know in advance what's in store for them in the future so they seek the assistance of fortune tellers. And yes maybe these people just want to find someone who are all ears to their problem or consult them for some answers.I don't know but for me no one can predict our future.thanks

Well when I was about 26 years old I did have my palm read, by a woman who was very accurate, I am now 45 years old so that was a long time ago. At the time I did not know that it is frowned upon by the church, I just thought that it was something that was fun to do, but since I have found out that it is not a good thing to do because it dabbles in the occult, I have not done anything like that again.

Yes the Church prohibits it but still there are still many new cardreaders, palmreader (Prognosticators) since lots f people patronize them. I don't really patronize them either since it is quite against the Church's teachings..

Hello Stanley! Actually there is nothing wrong with card readers and fortune tellers. Its because they are just predicting your future but that does not mean that all of there predictions will be come true. GOD is the only one who knows all. GOD is the only one who can tell your past present and future. I also agree that almost all of the people living in this beautiful world is patronizing those fortune tellers its because the believed that they will have a beautiful successful life with those CARDS. They didnt notice that GOD is watching them. And Preparing their PUNISHMENTS because they forgot to PATRONIZE GOD thus patronizing those Fortune tellers. By the way i hope you liked my post and i haev contributed a great part on your thread :) Happy myLotting to you :)

Hi zenkey23, Yeah, your right there is nothing wrong with consulting these fortune tellers.Maybe some people used it as their guide in making their decision.I don't blame them its their option if they think it will help them, but I just want to remind others that Catholic authorities discouraged their parishioner on consulting these seer because only God Almighty knows what's in store for us in the future.S I guess instead of going to these people let us pray and ask God for assistance in all our undertakings.thanks and good day to you.

I haven't been to one card reader nor fortune teller all my life. Those just rip off your money for nothing. Anyone can do it. It only depends on the arrangements of your words. You can make a false statement sound convincing, like for instance, you want someone to believe that you have a dog. You can say it as "I have a dog." This can convince some people, but you can also say it as "My dog was up all night." The latter statement also said that you have a dog but it puts it as a presupposition, meaning, it bypasses the question "Do you have a dog?" The whole idea that you have a dog is embedded in the sentence and what you're stressing here, instead, is that your dog is up all night. This technique is one of many that these "charlatans" use to convince people that they are actually saying something true.

So you are not a believer of them.Yes, these people have been with us practicing their trade as long as we have been aware and curious of what will happen in the future.Maybe sometimes its' a coincidence that what they foretell came true but most of the time not.So their customer are made to believe that what they are saying will most likely happen.thanks for sharing
