Some of you may know that I was once refused to go for training because of company want me to sign a contract to bond with the company for 2 year. So, my boss, he is the General Manager of the company, one day I found out that he told everyone in the other company that I rejected the company offer, that make me felt that he doesn't respect me and he is not a good boss at all.
For me, as a boss, he should not spread such a news with outsider and he should respect his subordinate.
What do you think about this kind of boss?

So, did he wanted to point you as a bad example for others? Did he tell them the reason for your refusal as well? Only then he should be considered a good person. But why did you miss that opportunity of getting training from your company? Do you see any bad things to happen in the two years time?

then it seems that he wanted to take you for granted. That is wise decision to turn down his last minute contract which looks like a threatening. Really his act was amateur from my point of view. Well, what was his reaction when you refused to take it anyway? Did he try to persuade you at the least?

He just told me that I do not need to go if I do not want to accept the contract. And I know that he is unhappy because everything were arranged and paid. So, if I am not going for the training, the company will lose some money for the air ticket and the hotel booking fees. But since he know that it is his fault, he did not force me to accept it. He did not even tried to talk to me and just ask someone to convey the message.
I think he must be afraid to talk to me because of his mistake.

I think he is trying to talk bad about me and shows that how good he is. I am actually prepared to go for the training but he came out with the contract in the last minute where air ticket and hotel were booked. I do not like such a last minute change. I have been told that I will be going for the training 3 month ahead but he only told me about the contract 3 day before I am going for the training. So, can you accept such a change?

This boss is not mature, no private and confidential. He is just as those big mouth you can meet in the market or those uneducated aunties.
If I were you, I shall look for another job with the higher position and higher pay.
Try it then only you know about your capability.

Yes, you are right, I have never seen a boss that like him, so busy body and big mouth. I was actually from the high post with high pay but just that I was retrenched due to the company closed down, thus I have to work in this company. I am just waiting for another opportunity when the time come. @SIMPLYD (90717)

I guess your boss is trying to warn your office mates not to be like you, who doesn't want to sign a contract.
I guess, our boss is entitled to what he thinks is best for the company, to the point of disregarding the feelings of his employees. If it is not a derogatory one, then it doesn't matter. Simply just ignore it .

No, he doesn't tell my colleague but he tell everyone in others company. He just told them that I do not want to go for the training in overseas but he doesn't mention that I do not want to go is because he asked me to sign a contract with the company in the last minutes whereby I have been inform that I will be going for training about 3 month before that. So, who can accept such a last minutes change. And as a General Manager, this kind of attitude is totally not acceptable.

A good boss ought to have the outstanding communicating ability, especially with his man. there should not be too much doubts in the company, because it may distory the company's interests in the long-run. anyhow,it is the freedom for employees to decide to leave or stay. sometimes the most attracting point for employees is not just how much cash or pay they would get,but the personal glamours of the boss.
Try to respect others whatever they respect you or not,you still never lose.
