do you ever find that there are different forms to your migraines and what causes them? Do you always know when one is coming on? Personally for me sometimes I get them and know I am getting one, and other times like the one I am suffering from today with no real warning, and this one hurts me even more than usual as well. This one is located in the middle of my face more towards my right eye, but also on the right side of my neck where most of the migraines ever are as well.
I have tried hydrocodone, and heat today and nothing really is helping yet so far. Just taking some time out of sleeping and relaxing to post in here for a bit to try and take my mind off the pain. Is there anything anyone has tried that seems to work better for them? This pain is horrible and I am hoping it is better for me tomorrow so I can go to work.
If you believe in Prayer remember me and my migraine and have a wonderful rest of the week.

Well, the one that I had came on about an hr. or so after I woke up. I was not feeling the best the night before getting this last one, and been COLD for some reason right before getting the migraine and when I first got this one. But all I know is it took taking 2 1/2s of a hydrocodone this time to help me feel any better at all, so hoping for the Best.

I have never heard of this item. I did try Feverfew for some time with migraines and it did seem to help, so maybe I should buy some more again. Just a little leary about New items and such due to having a lot of problems sometimes with interfering with other meds I have to take, etc. But might do some research on what you suggested here as well.

I am a regular sufferer of migraine. Worse, migraine with vomiting. Actually, there's no cure of migraine, but you can prevent or lessen the pain. I say there's no cure because it may come again. And the way to prevent it is to detect the cause of the trigger. Mine is usually triggered by stress, hormonal imbalance or before or during menstrual period, eye strained and food. If you already know what caused the migraine, then you can determine what to avoid. If caused by stress or strained eyes, sleep or rest is needed. Avoid being infront of TV or computer. The migraine is usually in the middle of the head or right part. Rest your eyes. When the migraine is triggered by hormonal imbalance or menstrual period, then take foods that are high in iron. Take cereals or oatmeal. Banana is good. Avoid high in protein foods. By the way, an empty stomach can trigger migraine too.

Yes, I am sure a lot of the last really Bad migraine was definately caused by Stress as a lot of stressful things have been going on in my life lately. It was also weird that it felt like Eye strain as well. Sometimes the bright light of the monitor and white screen of this site can do it. As for protein foods, never heard that one before... but definately have considered the Iron one for sure.

Migraines are the bane of my existence. Some of them make me lose my vision, I of course throw up, my face will hurt...It's awful. I get about ten a month, and with some of them lasting for days it's just the absolute worst pain. I definitely relate to your misery. I've had them since I was eight, and they have only gotten worse as I've aged.

I'm sorry you're suffering, I know those are horrible and seem endless. You'll be in my prayers.
My brother swore that aspirin helped him--he said it thinned the blood so it was easier for it to flow through the veins which are constricted by the migraine. It sounds logical to me and if you're not allergic to aspirin you might try it. They recommend aspirin for people at risk of heart attacks for the same reason. Be sure you're not allergic to it before you try it!
Another myLotter has migraines and says Excedrin helps her a lot. It contains aspirin, acetaminophen (tylenol) and caffeine.

Interesting thoughts here. I am not sure about the Aspirin regimine though. Might have to consider it though, as my doctor says one a day would be good. Excedrin and Tylenol are out for me. I have something I got from my doctor though that seems to help when I get a migraine though.

I am a longtime sufferer of migraines and like you know exactly when it is coming on. I have had several testing and to date it is unexplainable. The only thing hat helps me is Excedrin.
I do hope you feel better as I know exactly what the pain is like. I too will say a prayer for you and do wish you a full recovery.

For me excedrin did not help. I have to usually resort to a medication the doctor has given me for migraines or take a 1/2 of full hydrocodone. I am sure a lot of what causes mine besides hormonal is STRESS and just lack of sleep, while other times it could be the lighting around me as well.

Tina, I prayed for you. I found my headaches diminished a lot when I added magnesium to my vitamin regimen. I hope that you sleep well tonight and wake refreshed and pain free.

Magnesium helps with Migraine headaches or headaches in general? I have never heard of this one, and it might be worth my time to investigate this one. Luckily this last headache only really lasted the one day but it was NO Fun for sure.

hi tina wow those are just the meanest of headaches. when I was a every month I had one when my parents fought, and yelled and'my mom broke into tears. I remember hiding behind a chair then getting so ill I had to lie down. finally I would see a halo around the lamps and got so sick to my stomach .I would throw up and suddenly the pain stopped. I had taken aspirin then tylenol and nothing much stopped it. they lessened in high school as my parents seemed to get along better. but whenever there was a blow up back would come the throbbing blinding head ache and the nausea . I had them occasionally in adulthood while working as a nurses aide but took exceedrin and they did stop. but one day I met this good locking man with the black hair and laughing eyes. we fell for each other and once married I never had another migraine. my parents just called them sick headaches.lolMy husband when I told him about them suggested it was caused'by stress as I felt so helpless to see the people I loved so 'angry at each other.Tina could these be stressed related. I will pray to God to help get rid of that evil pain for you. I had a freind at work who took some sort of migraine injextion and in a half hour the pain was gone as she was assistant manager at our libray.a really sweet woman too.Ask your doctor as that injection might work.hope if all us mylotters send you some prayers it will be powerful and stop thos mean migraines in t heir tracks.

I am sure some of the migraines I get are stress related with everything going on right now, but I am sure some of it is caused by hormonal issues as well. Before I had cataract surgery I used to get more severe ones than the one I had yesterday. Still got a twinge of a headache or something still today, but getting ready to get off here and go to work. Thanks for the Prayers.

I have researched even before that migraines can be caused by the lack of oxygen in the brain. With that you can try our product. It has 6072 negative ions that helps you inhale 15-20% more oxygen increasing the flow of it in your brain. I use this also since I sometimes experience mild to severe headaches especially during my period.

I dont get migranes but my boyfriend does and in turn moans and gripes so much sometimes that i tend to wish that i just had a headache instead. There maybe a couple of things to watch, my boyfriend has to steer clear on to much weight on his shoulders (which reults in me carrying everything... glamorous i know), he also has to avoid uncooked cheese, chocolate, coffees and some types of fat. Maybe your consuming some of that? Do you have medication it might be an idea to keep that around you at all times. Massage your head (or get someone to) with warm olive oil and leave it in for a while (this will also make your hair nice) or go to bed with a warn hot water bottle.
I hope this helps and you get well soon
lots of love x
