Yes, I can. There are powder sold commercially in the nearby variety store, we call it sauted mix or ginisa mix in the local term, that when you add it to your food, it will tastes like it has been saute with onions and garlic plus some meat flavoring to add to its taste. It is more convenient for me using it because my husband is under medical diet and his doctor advised him not to eat too much oily foods, so using this saute powder prevents me from adding oil to my vegetables and other dishes.

It depends. There are some recipes that needs onions and garlic as well as others don't. Bu yes, they really vital spices in cooking. I love more garlic in some dishes, and to add up..for me, pepper is another important condiment for my cooking.

Hi asliah, Even i cant eat food without onion and garlic. No Indian will like their food without garlic and onion.Onions and garlics are the most widely used spices here. But the important thing is that both onions and garlic also offer lot of health benefits and have some medicinal use as well.

It is in ones personal choice to use that kind of ingredient. I can cook without those two and my food still tastes. There are a lot of granule ingredients in the market already that will help you cook more fast and even have a finish product that is very tasty. I try to use those type of thing and it really helps.

Yes, I can cook without onion and garlic. Sometimes I add it but I don't always have to cook with it. I don't use too much garlic anyway because I don't care too much for the taste of it. I do like cooked onions but I don't eat raw onions.

Yes, we do quite a lot of cooking without Onions and Garlic. We do this especially when we have one of our major festivals around end September and October. And the food is quite good even then, even though it does not match to the spiciness of Onions and garlics. Regards

Onions and garlic are spices we can't do without if we we like good cooking. Only if we are ready to eat fried foods for the rest of our life that we can perhaps just say we don't need these spices. Onions and garlic are the secret to savory foods so whenever I go to the market I always buy lots of them.

It wouldn't be easy that's for sure cause Onion and Garlic are my favorite spices followed by pepper. I guess if I didn't have any Onion or Garlic I would have to use lots of Pepper and Paprika maybe. I make sure I always have both.

I don't think I would mind eating something without onions and garlic, though these are two things I love to add in most of my dishes. There is a certain community in India who does not use onion or garlic at all in their food. I recently had a chance to dine at such a restaurant and the food was pretty good. So, to answer your question, even though I usually (there are certain dishes where I do not use either onion or garlic) use a lot of both in my dishes, I won't have a problem eating them. My potato fry doesn't have onions or garlic in it.

Sure it is possible, but for most of what I cook, I really don't want too. Most of what I cook has a nice combination of peppers, onions, and other vegetables.

No way! I cannot imagine a dish cooked without onion and garlic. They are healthy both raw and cooked. They give a special taste to cooked food with their flavors. Onion and garlic do not miss in my garden and dishes. Of course there are dishes that cannot be combined with onion or garlic, but I rarely eat them!

As someone who is allergic to both onions and garlic, but is also a good cook, I can assure you that you can cook without both and still have flavorful food! The taste (and the smell) may be different, but still very, very tasty. The trick is not just to leave the onions and garlic out, but to replace them with herbs and spices that you also like and which will complement whatever it is you are cooking. Try that sometime and maybe you'll find (or create) a recipe you like.

I really do love onion, and i also like garlic. I don't really use that much garlic but when i do cook i seem to use a lot of onion in many things, even if people don't put onion in some things i will still add it as i like it so much, i think that it is a great way to experiment with many different foods. The food could taste so much better and it is nice to experiment more with diferent types of things. Onion and garlic are great things to add that will make a difference.

I think it will not taste that good without the onion and garlic. These are very important ingredients for any dish for the taste and their other uses. It is not advisable to not include these two. It is hard to not eat the dish which you cook be yourself, that is true with me also.
