I would like to share something personal with my mylot friends. the thing is i have this syndrome(i don`t know what to call it) that unless i complete my 7-8 hours of sleep no alarm or ringing phone can wake me up. sometimes when i sleep late at night and have to wake up early i have to rely on someone else to come to my room and wake me up. this is becoming very embarrassing as i am getting older.
Does anyone else here faces the same problem?

I've slept through multiple alarms and even turned a few off in my sleep... but I can get up if I make an effort to. I usually set my alarm clock and my cell phone and I put my cell phone across the room so that I have to get up to turn it off. If the cell phone ringing doesn't wake you up at all then this might not help you.

I can wake up in an alarm but sometimes I get used to it on stopping the alarm and get back on sleeping again hahaha. But if it is important day and should wake up on time, before I sleep I condition my mind that I should wake up early then I can
wake up also with the alarm.

I'm like you shuley! I always wake up with my alarm but then I'm just going to stop it, set it to another time and get back to sleep again then if it alarms again, I would stop it and get back again to sleep. I repeat it three to four times. hahaha! :D

it's not sickness dear. it's just that your system aren't welcoming the noise of your alarm. try other sounds. you can use cellphone so that you can choose other music and that you're body system can react to it.

No dear i don't have such kind of problem. If i need to wake up early then i use my alarm and getup in time. I think it's just depend on intention. I mean for me. If my intention is that i will wake up in the morning then i will because of my conscious. Wake up in the morning should be urgency then i will be so tense and my tension will wake up me in the morning. Otherwise i can't wake up.
Hope you got the point.

This has happened to me occasionally in the past, though not on a regular basis. You could try auto-suggestion. Before you fall asleep, just repeat to yourself that you're going to hear that alarm clock, or you're going to wake up at a certain hour. But if nothing like this works, you can still look at the bright side: you get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. I know quite a few people who'd pay good money for that. :)

Sleeping? Not a problem for me, but since you have a problem, I can give my views with regards with this subject. In your whole life you spend 3/4 of your time sleeping. Also, in your whole life, you spend your time taking a bath, right? since those chores you are doing everyday tends to be your habit. Psychologically speaking, you have to learn the so-called self-discipline within your system. Set that system of yours (include sleeping) to be unison with your habit. Control and determination can help you with this kind of problem. Lastly, be honest with yourself in dealing with this one. Don't just say, never mind you people, mind your own business. You know that's why you have a problem because of your laziness to yourself and your commitment as a person. Be mature enough to do the right thing/s that made you as a good person right now.

My boyfriend is like that. He needs to get up at 5:30 AM every day and is dependent on me to wake him up. Alarms don't work with him. They'd just keep ringing then fall into snooze mode without him noticing. I guess he just got to used to my voice being his wake-up call. As for me, other alarms don't wake me up. It has to be my phone, and the song that plays when the alarm goes off is Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend. I changed the song one time and I slept through it. But with the song Girlfriend, I get up the moment I hear "Hey, hey, you, you I don't like your girlfriend!" Maybe you need to find that one sound that can wake you up, as well.

really..? i always set my alarm to wake me up, else am late. i make sure it's going to vibrate as well cause it won't wake me up if it's just a tone especially if im very very tired and lack of sleep for days.
i have had so many experiences when it comes to comin' in late or not able to come cause i was not able to set my alarm.
i think i'm gonna be stuck with havin an alarm for the rest of my life. hahahaha.. i wish i can find a small alarm clock that can vibrate cause am always using my phone..

Sorry this has happened to me only a few times. Its nothing to be embarrassed about but I do know some people who will sleep forever through their loud, shrieking alarm clock and you just want to go in their and throw the thing out the window.

I do not have the same problem as you in getting up. Even when I had to sleep late I will still get up at about 7am in the morning, alarm or no alarm. It's the other way around, when I fell asleep under 10pm I would get up at around 2 or 3 am and could not get back to sleep again. I guess it is a routine. You have to train yourself to get up at a time that you want. Telling yourself before going to bed may help.

The only time I experience this is when I didn't sleep the other night and my day was full of activities. When this happens, even my mom can't wake me up and I tend to sleep for 10 to 14 hours straight.
