Religion is not just a prohibition and command language, or heaven-hell mere rhetoric. Religion is beautifully perfect street to love Him, Love born of understanding, not on behalf of love, recognition and slogans only ..

I agree with your sentiments although I would say spirituality more than religion. In my opinion religion is a just a method for some to practice their spirituality. It may not be for everybody but having faith, practicing love, tolerance and kindness is the way to joy and happiness. I guess that is part of what spirituality and religion are all about...

If you changed that word "religion" to "relationship" with the Creator, that would be more like it. Do you know what the root word of "religion" means? It does mean bondage, not many people know this, but in a study I did a few year ago on root meanings of the word, that is what it said..Besides, I like relationship better, it is more personal..:)

hi I like that a perfect street to love God and each other in the right and only way.Carmel mentions relationship and I like that idea as that is what we should have, and all of us need that relationship, all of us. Also I need to remember with G od thy will be done.I think of that old song, Have thine own way lord, have thine ouw way, you are the potter, I am the clay.Take me and mold me just as thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.

Much of us are never realized that WE are the one who really need the religion, not the religion itself. if we could have this consciousness we will surrender our self for the religion, not because we are commanded to.

Yes, you are right. many people think religion is only as set of rules or moral code and a unknown and unseen deity controlling these codes, it is sometimes a life born out of love reciprocated by subjects and deity and doing their obligations.
